The police on Staten Island were searching for three assailants Sunday in connection with the robbery and beating of a Mexican teenager a day earlier — the latest in a series of attacks on Mexican immigrants in Port Richmond that has spurred a heightened police presence and discussions among community leaders and residents on how to curb the rising violence.
The assault occurred about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday as the victim, a 17-year-old high school junior, whose name was not disclosed by the authorities, was returning home after working a late shift as a busboy at a restaurant in Manhattan, the police and neighborhood advocates said.
As he passed through the intersection of Castleton Avenue and Simonson Place — three blocks from the heart of the police buildup on Port Richmond Avenue, the neighborhood’s main commercial strip — a Hispanic man approached him and asked him a question, possibly to distract him, according to the police. Suddenly, two black men appeared and began punching the victim in the face and yelling anti-Mexican slurs, the police said. The three men stole $10 from the teenager and fled.
The victim was treated for lacerations at Richmond University Medical Center and released.
The police said Saturday’s attack was at least the 10th instance in the past four months in which assailants, mostly young black men, have assaulted Mexican immigrants walking in Port Richmond, which has seen the number of Mexican residents climb sharply over the past two decades.
The police say they are investigating the latest attack as a hate crime. They also treated the nine earlier cases as hate crimes, though in the three cases in which arrests have been made, grand jurors declined prosecutors’ requests to indict the suspects on hate-crime charges...

Assuming, from the way the article is written, that the victim is Mexican, not Mexican-American; and assuming that he was assumed by the perps, to be in the country illegally:
Is it really a ‘hate crime’, when your partners in crime belong to the same group as the victim? Exercise: is it an “anti-gay hate crime” if one gay ‘bashes’ another?
Were they actually making ethnic slurs against Latinos/Hispanics, or were they really making comments against all Mexican in particular; or against illegal Latinos/Hispanics/Mexicans and/or illegal immigrants in general?
Is it really a hate crime if the criminal is preying upon another criminal? Excercise: is it an ‘anti-black’ hate crime if a black pimp call a black drug dealer an “f’n N-——” while beating him for not paying his girls for sex?
Any Liberal philosophers out there who care to tie themselves into pretzels by writing a disertation on these questions?

No that’s not the way it is. Its still 100% blacks & hispanics against whitey—and especially white men.
That’s the reason black leadership is willing to overlook the killing of blacks by hispanics. the black people being killed are mostly the black lower and underclass while the black political players are just use them as a basis for their grievance politics and then ignore their problems.
Look at our prisons to see what is probably coming to the “outside”.

The black kids (kids used advisedly) aren’t interested in any jobs these Mex may have. The phase “I aint workin for no chump change!” is heard over and over in Black communities.Having taught in a JHS wit 56% Hispanic, 34% Asian and 5% white and Black I can tell you the animosity toward the Asians and Hispanics on the part of the black kids was and is palpable.And of the black kids if you get 1 in 10 with a working dad you get a lot. There is almost zero interest in getting ahead the right way among the black kids. They aren’t interested in hard work because few in their lives work at all and yet the bills are paid, they have the Air Jordans, and the fancy phones. Going after these Mex isn’t about anger over not getting their jobs, it’s about anger that they are being overtaken again by a new group. If someone can be blamed it’s those who heeded WEB Dubois and not Booker T Washington.

I’m not interested in the ‘documentation’ status of the victims. Whether or not the victims are illegal aliens is a different issue altogether.
