I really think that he would (now) prefer to be Tiger Woods than Abe Lincoln. That is, he seems to show more passion for golf than for being president, except that the perks for being president are nice -- because he can golf on those elite golf courses.

The bad news is these numbers will change when we've all of a sudden got who know, 20 million new (illegal) voters on the rolls, by executive order. "Stroke of the pen, law of the land. Kinda cool." - Paul Begala

Surely they know that if he does this it means massive unrest, if not blood in the streets, which will clearly send us into depression, followed by the supreme court overturning it anyway. If he does this, the democrats are toast for a generation. Not even obama is that stupid.

you know this and so do many of us but we have to remember most Americans have no clue if he went on the view or not down to the border.
hell I have met people who did not even know about the border or the court case the racist justice depot brought, hell I’ll go further .
There are many out there which have no clue about he black panthers, bill Ayers weather underground, SEIU, ACORN

This is what the Dems and the corrupt media want.
They want a news black out and when we have the likes of Beck(I don;t agree with all the time) exposing the left they get all bent out of shape and try and have him took off the air

knowledge and communication is our weapon.
Tell EVERYONE we know, neighbors, work friends, family, people who we have just met in a docs office coffee shop etc

If we expose the left and the rat party plus the so called media we will win on election night.

... college kid voter which looks at him (Obama) as more of a fashion than them thinking they have to actually use their brains and see what he is doing to their parents.

AND THEIR FUTURE!!!

A question somewhat related to the topic of Obama approval/disapproval:

Does anyone know what the latest approval/disapproval ratings are for Obamacare? I read somewhere else that people are moving towards being more approving as time passes.

Same here. But, a bit of a turnaround in the economy and he most probably would win reelection. And he has about 18 months to make that happen.

As for all the talk about Hillary challenging him -- it won't happen. Dems are not that stupid to challenge their own sitting president. If Obama decides (via force or his own preference) not to seek a second term, then Clinton is probably the next viable contender.

And the GOP would probably go with Gingrich, to ensure a Clinton victory. [Shaking head at the GOP and some of the things they do.]

Oh if GOP has Newt, it is over because people are not going to vote for a guy who has been married three times (at least). No way, no how and that’s not even taking Global Warming into consideration which will cause another 20 percent from voting for him. I know exactly what you are talking about though. GOP will screw it up as they always do.

Maybe The Phew doesn’t get as many viewers these days. I know Oprah’s ratings are really low. I’m not sure there’s that much of a market these days for goofy shows like these.

Actually the noise in rasmussen's numbers are very low, which is a desirable quality for polling. There was a study some years ago after one of the major elections that showed rasmussen's tracking numbers had the lowest standard deviations of anyone else's. This means it is LESS subject to noise than his competition, which probably means he is controlling better for sources of error than the rest.

The source of error rasmussen is particularly good at controlling is "party id". Although there have been endless discussions on FR about whether or not party id should be a controlled figure in polling, I think the way rasmussen does it has basically been proven to be highly accurate. What he does is, he polls for "party id" over long periods of time and uses an average over a huge amount of data. That means his party id figures are reasonably stable, but they do respond to demographic changes over time in a pretty accurate way.

Other pollsters either do not control for party id, meaning they frequently oversample democrats or republicans leading to more error, or they correct for party id using old figures from the prior major election which may not be accurate anymore.

To see how important party id is in controlling error, realize that democrats rate obama's performance positively at a rate of 77 to over 80% in recent polls, while republicans rate him favorably in the single digits. If you oversample one or the other group even by tiny amounts it nearly adds error at a 1 to 1 ratio to the oversampling.

Time and again Ras has been proven the most accurate. No polling is perfect, but there is good evidence that the way Ras does it is among the best available.

Mean while, Congress is at 11% approval rating. Some have said that it would be better to have the Mafia in charge. At least they understand that the people have to be able to make money before they can get payed. Besides, we would know where they are coming from.

Clinton would not have won a first *OR* second term, if Ross Perot had not stolen so many voters.

In both elections, Clinton won with way less than 50% of the vote.

Oh if GOP has Newt, it is over because people are not going to vote for a guy who has been married three times (at least).

I wonder what the results would be if a poll were taken of FReepers to determine how many were married more than once.

The poll should have selections for:

married (only once and still married)
married 2 times
married 3 times
married 4+ times
never married
will never get married
dont' believe in marriage

Someone mentioned in this thread that 0bama is the ultimate example of the Peter Principle, with which I agree. It occurs to me that perhaps we are witnessing a new political effect: the Palin Principle, where every time Palin publicly points out an 0bama faux pas, his poll numbers drop.

Excellent points - I have to laugh when I see the so called big names in lame stream / cable media (like chuck todd) opining in tweets that Ras. polling is “too unreliable” and that he is waiting for “more accurate polling”...?

Honestly, I meant to say “decreases noise.” Sometimes I read what I’ve written later and I wonder where my mind, my spelling skills, or my grammar book were at the time I wrote. Sometimes I see the mistakes immediately....right after I hit the “post” button.
