WASHINGTON (AP) - A House investigative panel has decided to charge Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters of California with ethics violations, raising the possibility of a second high-profile political trial this fall. People familiar with the investigation, who were not authorized to be quoted about unannounced charges, say the allegations could be announced next week. The House ethics committee declined Friday to make any public statement on the matter.
Waters has been under investigation for a possible conflict of interest involving a bank that was seeking federal aid. Her husband owned stock in the bank.

Thanks PROCON.
Guess the dems want to get this done now, so that they can just give them a little slap on the wrist. If they wait until the new congress is elected, the Pubbies might just slap both wrists really hard.
Seriously, how is this happening? Are these reverse show trials where Rangel and Waters get slaps on the wrist and go on with business as usual while these stories quietly disappear from the public stage?

She is a typical socialist liberal - i.e., a feckless douchebag. And a racist to boot.
She is where she is not due to any intellect of bright spark of intelligence; she is there because “Burger Joint” hired it’s affirmative action quota.
That’s about it.
Wasn’t that the picture of Maxie threatening big oil executives with nationalizing their industry? That should have been an ethics violation for violating the COTUS.
The next in line... BHO
Waters
1) racist
2) Marxist
3) Sociopath
Hey, I never expected the Rangel thing to go this far. Anything is possible as far as Waters is concerned. I think when Rangel was nailed without ghetto riots the cowards in Congrss are emboldened to go after the larcinously vacuuous Maxine.
If I did my job the way she does hers, I’d be dragged out in handcuffs and no one would ever hear from me again.
The galling part is that throughout this case we’re going to hear all about how unfair it is to Waters. :(
Good news.
I hate this vile, evil, vindictive wench.
The CBC was certainly in a lather a couple weeks ago to try and repeal Pelosi’s ethics reform law - the one that created the Office of Congressional Ethics. I guess we’re starting to see why.
I think this is mostly because a disproportionate number of the CBC occupy “safe” districts, and representation of those districts for long periods of time seems to provide a lot of opportunity for mischief.
It’s about time the District of Corruption is finally living up to its name. Thanks Barry! Corruption is finally everywhere you look! Pelosi done good!
Bush’s fault???
Oh goodie, I can retell my Maxie Waters story.
Flew the family from DC to LA 5-6 years ago and low and behold Maxie is sitting by herself right behind us. It’s about a 5 hour trip going that way. She was on the plane’s pay phone the entire time talking to he family, grandkids, everyone except her office, we could hear every word! 5 hours on an airplane phone was how many thousands of dollars? And you know her poorest of poor Watts constitutes were paying for it, I wanted to throw up.
By next week they will offer her a deal.
“If I did my job the way she does hers, Id be dragged out in handcuffs and no one would ever hear from me again.”
That’s the difference between the Ruling Class and us Country People. ;o)
I think all of this is taking place now so that the dems can cover them, and the trials will be over before we take the House, and are able to continue the investigations into their shenanigans with our people in charge.
I would love to see this incompetant boob defend herself.
