Graham’s push against birthright citizenship prompted this response on POLITICO’s Arena from Cesar Conda, a former domestic policy adviser to Vice President Dick Cheney: “If the Republican Party embraces ending birthright citizenship, then it will be assured losing Latino and ethnic voters — and presidential elections for the foreseeable future.”

Good. We don’t need racist voters. Enough Anglos who feel VERY STRONGLY about this issue are coming over to our side. Enough is enough. Short-term gain now means long-term losses forever once they get a foothold, drop more pups in poverty, and chain immigration. Screw em. Cut off the cord now.

Factoring work ethic, taxation, Christianity, and adjustments in labor costs, the political outcome may wash out to a split possibly favoring Republicans.

So wrong it's not funny. Open your eyes FRiend. Do you believe illegal Mexicans have a superior "work ethic" than American citizens? You don't know many illegals then. Their work ethic is no shining example, it's more or less average.

Taxation. Are you kidding me? Illegals don't pay any income tax as it is. If they do file, they will get the EIC, which will get them a fat check from the government every year, depending on how many "dependents" they have. Do you expect that person to vote for someone who says they will take that away? That's crazy talk.

Christianity? Catholicism is rife with leftist leadership which can be counted on to reinforce socialist ideas. Like the bishops do now. Like they do in Mexico.

Adjustments in labor costs. Right. Another way of saying "declining wages for Americans". You can stuff that.

Mexicans vote Democrat. Obama took 67% of them. Why do you think the Democrats want more of them legalized? Tell me again how conservative Hispanics are. Pandering to non American Hispanics is a fools errand; we need to promote constitutional conservatism and let the chips fall where they may.

Illegals are NOT GOOD FOR THIS COUNTRY. In any way, manner, shape, or form. They are squatters who send on average $2400 per year of the wages they make OUT OF THIS COUNTRY. A tax free subsidy for Latin America. Any wonder all of our friends in Latin America want us to have "Amnesty"?

The resulting chain migration will be very destructive to this country-—economically, politically(if you’re a conservative), and culturally.

Ten or eleven million(grossly underestimated IMO) new citizens sounds relatively innocuous to some.....30-60 million, not so much.

Ah...Cesar Conda....I’ve been waiting for that one to pop up with his amnesty crappola. This guy went to work for Soros after he left Cheney. He’s ALWAYS been a big open border guy...and you that push the Cheneys on us better realize it.

Conda, along with Grover Norquist and Steven Moore did more to destroy prop. 187 in California than anyone, not to mention the Simpson/Massoli bill that should have controlled illegal immigration until they got their hooks into it.

They defy EVERY poll of the US Citizenry on this subject and are NOT conservatives!

The GOP elites care NOTHING about what republicans or anyone in this country thinks!

I think Mitt Romney’s a very nice man, but he’s no conservative. I wouldn’t vote for him unless he was the least liberal candidate running.

Would think this a non-starter with public opinion running as high as it has been for years opposing amnesty as a solution. Sounds more like old establishment republican’s trying to find cover in the tall grass of ‘compromise’.

This is actually a good thing. The sooner people what Romney stands for, the sooner we can start looking at REAL candidates.

Mitt signaled quietly to other RINOs they gotta support comprenehsive immigration reform. Of course too many of us forget that Mitt is trying to be the Demrat-controlled RINO GOP candidate.

When viewed that way one can understand why the man is still hanging around and hoping.
