Kerry irritated by yacht questions By: Andy Barr July 27, 2010 01:02 PM EDT
Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) seemed to grow frustrated on Monday by ongoing questions of whether he paid the proper taxes on his $7 million yacht.
There is nothing more to say about it, Kerry curtly told a gaggle of Massachusetts reporters as he tried to get into a car on Monday. A video of the interaction was posted online by Boston-area WBZ-TV.
The yacht became a local issue over the weekend after the Boston Herald reported on Friday that Kerry was docking his new family boat in Rhode Island, thus avoiding nearly $500,000 in Massachusetts taxes.
If Kerry were to move the yacht's into Massachusetts within six months of its purchase, the state would assume it was bought for in-state use and tax it accordingly. If the boat were to remain in Rhode Island, however, Kerry would not be required to pay Massachusetts taxes.
Kerry said Monday that the yacht, named the Isabel, was only docked in Rhode Island because it is being worked on.
Its under warranty down there, he explained. Its being worked.
Kerry also said that all appropriate taxes on the boat will be paid.

poor baby.
*Sneer, sneer, sneer* How dare you little people question me? I’m a big important member of the American Left!
Snicker, snicker.
A lot of people in MA despise Kerry.
But not enough...
ay caramba el yatch no pago taxis!
We don’t need no stinkin’ taxis.
The very best lessons on tax avoidance can be gleaned by watching rich liberals.
Like when Ohio’s far left Senator Metzenbaum migrated to Florida shortly before he croaked to avoid estate taxes.
Hey yo Kerry, if you can’t afford to pay the taxes, you should have thought twice about buying that multi-million dollar yacht, huh, idiot? =.=
"I own a mansion and a yacht."
Dear John,
We’re irritated by you.
So there.
Anything that irritates this marxist is good.
Yeah, John Kerry, now there’s another Democrat in touch with the working people of this country.
The grimy rabble is so tedious.
The U.S. Government provided Kerry a boat back in 1968 to use for whole year, but Kerry only used it for 4 months.
Remember the SUVs that his “family-owned” (and forced . . . . FORCED him, mind you, to ride in) during the 2004 campaign??
Same deal here. Rules for everyone else DON’T apply to the political elites.
Kerry should be the poster child for STRICT term limits!!
Fox Business is about to cover Kerry’s yacht tax evasion...
Exactly!!
Shouldn’t they be asking his wife the financial questions re the yacht? She had to have paid for it...
