Hasn’t Charlie introduced a Draft bill every year since the Iraq war?

charlie’s been pushing this crap for years.

Not gonna go anywhere.

Besides, the military is being asked to cut their budget.

They can’t afford more conscripts.

“To require all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform national service...”

What if these people already have full time jobs?

Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

This is good to reiterate to NRP listeners who always associate liberal thinking with moderate behavior.

Liberals are the first politicians to always mandate conscription, but also are the first to reject submitting their personal service without any anticipation of reward.

"...to authorize induction...to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services and for other purposes."

Well, there it is...There will be a draft to fill out the ranks of the "brown-shirt brigades" that will be required to join with the police to round up, incarcerate, or kill all American citizens who don't give up their guns, religion, morals, children, voting rights, and properties.

obamao is simply guaranteeing his 3rd, 4th, and 5th terms in the WH.

fortunately with Rangel as the sponsor this will get about as much traction as a bald radial on a dirt county road in a hurricane.

“Before” would be when a draft was previously in force. WWII, Korea, Vietnam. Having a fulltime job did not keep a person out of the military unless the job was deemed to be necessary for the war effort.

This is slavery under a new name.

Just like it took Nixon to go to China, it took a black person to reinstitute slavery in the US.
