LAS VEGAS, NV While the federal government sinks deeper into debt than any time since World War II, former White House green jobs adviser Anthony Van Jones said it was time to stop worrying about budget deficits and pressure Washington to take more money from American businesses to fund larger social and infrastructure projects.
This is a rich country. We have plenty of money, and if you dont believe me, ask Haliburton, Jones told a group of progressive bloggers and activists at the Netroots Nation convention Friday. Theres plenty of money out there; dont fall into the trap of this whole deficit argument.
The only question is how to spend it, he added.

If only the government would employ everyone there would be no want, there would be no poor and there would be no homeless.
Yeah, Obama voters are dumb enough to believe anything.
He might know a little about “green” but nothing about economics. This guy, who’s eventually going to pack his attic from ceiling joists to rafters with insulation (then his roof will rot) is El Stupido. I’d sooner have Jimmuh Cahtuh, at least he was an engineer.
“The problem with socialism is,, sooner or later, you run out of other peoples money”.....Margaret Thatcher.
Oh, he’s gonna grow this big green pie in the sky
This from people who aren’t qualified to run a lemonade stand.
Where everything they dream up works just great in their university confined la-la land.
Not so much in the real world. Economic ruin, pain and suffering on a grand scale follow wherever they have control.
Ye old time communists wanted to run everything. We can see what a a failure that was. Being communists, they were awful at building and running a business
Today’s communists stick with to they know best. They merely want to tax and steal from businesses to fund their racial agendas, their loony wealth distribution theories and green theories. These lazy maggots just want to plunder the productive sector and overtax productive citizens. They are smart enough to not try and run a pharmaceutical company for instance. Just milk it. Make it into their cash cow by taxing it heavily and punitive taxes for the top executives
You just described the difference between facist and communisist economics.
If this country fails to take congress away from the rats this Nov or gives Osama a second term. Then this country deserves everything it gets.
Even Communist China taxes its business more lightly than the USSA does.
Oh, he might be a useful attic insulation installer.
And this is the Marxist clown that Meg Whitman admires so much.
Exactly. And there’s not a nickel’s worth of difference between them, philosophically. See the 3rd quote on my profile page on that, the 2-paragraph one by Hayek.
You have a point there but I am sure Van Jones heroes are communists like Che Guevara, not fascists. Socialists are content with having some state owned enterprises but otherwise taxing to death the private sector to fund their communist schemes. The communists schemes of today are green jobs, they are racial agendas and reparations, they are wealth redistribution, they are dominating education k-12 and in universities so all their commie friends have jobs and can indoctrinate young skulls full of mush
“How I stopped worrying and began to love the bomb” movie comes to mind when I read this, what, me worry about going broke= Alfred E. VanJones
Unfortunately there is no shortage of idiots like Jones in Jackson, Tennessee. Jackson is becoming another Memphis rapidly with all of its diversity. The only good thing about it is that there are two small cities between there and here to buffer the criminals activities.
