McCain Dumps $10 Million On Primary (PANICKING, DESPERATE RINO ALERT)
National Journal ^ | 2010-07-23 | Sean Sullivan

Posted on 07/23/2010 4:04:26 PM PDT by rabscuttle385

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) spent more than $10M on his primary battle against ex-Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R), according to his 2ndQ campaign finance report, leaving him with a much narrower financial advantage in the GOP primary than he once enjoyed.

McCain has spent a total of $15.7M this cycle, according to FEC reports, and he has just $1.78M left to spend before the Aug. 24 GOP primary. Hayworth had $922K in the bank, his reports showed.

"Senator McCain takes every campaign seriously, and this race is no exception. Senator McCain is proud of the statewide support he's received from Arizonans, both financial and otherwise," said McCain spokesperson Brian Rogers.

McCain has been blanketing the AZ airwaves with TV ads, but he has apparently made a significant cutback in the size of his buy lately. According to Hayworth media consultant Dan Bayens, McCain has reduced his ad spending from $150K-$250K a week -- where he had been since March -- down to $40K a week currently.

McShame “has just $1.78M left to spend before the Aug. 24 GOP primary. Hayworth had $922K in the bank”

So, one month out McShame only has a 2-1 money advantage. No wonder he’s panicking. This could be a very interesting rush to the finish line. If much of the $10 million+ that McShame has spent over the last few months came from 2008 campaign money he didn’t want to use against the Kenyan, and if McShame is now dramatically reducing his TV buys, he must not be receiving much in new donations.

I hope J.D. is getting significant new donations after his good showing in the debates.

J.D. can win this.

I hope his internal polling is not good, although I’m not sure he’ll care. I’ve always had this feeling with McCain that his presidential candidacy and even this candidacy were just some strange expression of an elderly gentleman’s vanity.

If he really cared, he wouldn’t run...but he doesn’t care.

I think AZ gets about a 15-20% return over what they pay in Fed Taxes. They’ll stick with their RINO pork-fetcher. We need term limits!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meh. I can’t hold it against her. She has been loyal to the man who brought her to national attention, and I cannot fault her for that loyalty, and don’t really understand how a conservative can. She has endorsed him. She’s not actively campaigning for him in the primary.

Wow! That's when they made cars like tanks. That rhino did a surprisingly little amount of damage.

Please, Republicans of Arizona. DO NOT give the nomination to McCain. He can't be trusted. He's done enough damage to this country. Please, please, please, the rest of the country is begging you.

Uh huh. Then, how does he explain '08?

And to think Sarah Palin supports this load of SH*T. Well, I have lost some of my respect for her over this very issue.

Oh, for crying out loud. Just stop already. You've seen the reason for Sarah's endorsement of McCain explained a thousand times on this forum.

That charge has become little more than liberal graffiti now.

The good news is he won’t have money left over to fund other RINO’s who would end up beholden to him.

He has $20 to 30 million from the 2008 he never spent because his boss (Soros) told him Obama was going to win all along. I loathe McCain. He sickens me.

McCain has been calling in every favor from ALL the newspapers the Dems and Soros control. Polls have been rigged, articles written against JD, shills paid (to post here) and on and on. McCain is horrible .

We LOST our country due to McCain Feingold people. The Dems swept in 2006 and 2008 due to that law and Soros-McCain giving us McCain as the GOP candidate.

McCain is s**t.

McCain is a Democrat. That money was left over from 2008 where he was a ringer to lose for his boss Soros.

HAS JD used that in his campaign? He certainly has a lot of ammo.

You and me both. I can’t support her if she is supporting the likes of him.

I’ll take Michele Bachmann any day

You can say that, but the blue-haired old biddies aren’t listening. They’re too set in their ways — all they care about is that McCain’s their age, Deakin’s a nudnik, and J.D. reminds them of a used-car salesman. DECISION MADE.
