TANCREDO: The case for impeachment
Washington Times ^ | July 22, 2010 | Tom Tancredo

Eleven years ago, like every citizen elected to serve in Congress or any person appointed to any federal position, I swore an oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic."

I've always thought it significant that the Founders included domestic enemies in that oath of office. They thought liberty was as much at risk from threats within our borders as from outside, and French political thinker and historian Alexis de Tocqueville agreed with that warning.

I would add that most presidents in my lifetime have been guilty of impeachable offenses.

This one, however, is in a league of his own. How about starting with his assassination order against an American citizen who he accuses of terrorism? Whether this citizen is guilty of terrorism or not, it is a direct violation of Obama’s oath to order his execution without even a trial. If he gets away with this, then he will get away with anything!

I submit there will be no impeachment of Obama. Republicans don’t have the guts, and that may be a good thing. Impeachment without conviction will make Obama a hero to the far left. Conviction requires 67 Senators, not gonna happen. All players involved are scared to death of the riots that would ensue with impeachment, let alone conviction.

Tom is a great guy. I saw him a while back and begged him to run for governor in Colorado. He’s now trying to get on the Constitution Party ticket. I hope he succeeds. Colorado needs Tom in the governor’s office.

Congratulationss, you have joined the equally uninformed Shep Smith on my list of FOX talking heads I’ll no longer watch.

Total agreement from the nothingnew man cave...can't stand either one.

"Instead, he should be tried for treason."

Maybe we can arrest him and prosecute him for impersonating a government official. Maybe we can try him for trespassing. Hmmm...

I'm tempted to do the same thing. What she did was just outright disrespectful to a former congressman and her viewpoints were the viewpoints of the typical reporters we see on CNBC, MSNBC and others.

I thought she would bring a fresh perspective to Fox News. She's Shepherd Smith in drag.

Very well put. I so mad at Megyn I turned it off. Tancredo is right, our very government is now a worse enemy than the enemies outside the gate. I hope November gets here quickly and we can mount a defense against the terrorist in the White House named Obama.
