J.D. Hayworth's criticism of John McCain over a TV ad featuring Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu seems to have backfired.
Since calling on McCain to pull the ad because Babeu called in to a white-supremacist radio show -- apparently without knowing it was a show for racists -- Hayworth's now taking his lumps from Arizona lawmen defending the sheriff.
This afternoon, the Arizona Fraternal Order of Police put out a press release calling on Hayworth to retract his comments about Babeu and demanding an apology.
"We're about to enforce SB1070, and the White House doesn't trust Arizona Peace Officers to enforce the law without racially profiling," says Sergeant John Ortolano, president of the AFOP. "It is unfortunate that J.D. Hayworth has agreed and now wrongly attacked Sheriff Paul Babeu."
"David Duke, Paul Babeu, John McCain -- certainly the senior senator from Arizona does not want to be at that party."
The AFOP says the comments crossed a line.
"The former congressman should know better than to attack law enforcement for political gain, and he needs to retract his statements and apologize to the Sheriff," Ortolano continues.
We contacted Hayworth's campaign to see if he had any plans to apologize. Nobody's gotten back to us yet.

Ike must be rolling over in his grave. “Why all the handwringing? I rounded the illegals up in a matter of months.”
From the website. You can decide for yourself.
STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES
“We represent a philosophy that is pro-White...”
“America would not be as prosperous, ruggedly individualistic, and a land of opportunity if the founding stock were not Europeans.”
“We wish to revive the White birthrate above replacement level fertility and beyond to grow the percentage of Whites in the world relative to other races. “
“Many older pro-whites ...”
“He sticks with legitimate complaints that gentiles have and our fear of the genocide of immigration and intermarriage...”
“...the disappearance of the white race...”

The commercial made me feel rotten inside. The policemen, their leadership and the unions made a decision a long time ago.
The deemed it OK for illegal invaders to destroy lives, families, property across America. They accepted the fact that many policemen would die in the line of duty because the borders are umprotected.
How many policemen besides Joe have taken their oath to serve and protect seriously?
After reading the rest of the thread I see theres another commercial. I was talking about the one where Mac the sellout takes a border walk. That video was creepy, Mac was creepy.
The Bible says a double minded man is unstable in all his ways and the mac the scallywag is both.
J.D. Hayworth endorsed by
National Association of Police Organizations
Phoenix, AZ (April 12) -The National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO), one of the largest coalitions of police associations from across the United States, announced today that it has endorsed J.D. Hayworth for U.S. Senate.
William Johnson, Executive Director, stated, “NAPO is pleased to support J.D. Hayworth and is confident of his support of America’s law enforcement when in Washington D.C..”
Arizona is getting the best senator money can buy....thanks to the campaign donations from McCain’s prez run!
[snip]U.S. Sen. John McCain is spending money like his political life depends on it, pouring more than $15 million into his primary challenge against J.D. Hayworth.
According to a quarterly report filed with the Federal Elections Committee, McCain has spent about 10 times more than Hayworth and far more than all other candidates combined. He reported spending about $15.6 million, compared to about $1.5 million for Hayworth.
McCain has raised about $15 million so far, about half of which was transferred from his 2008 presidential campaign.

Judging from the context of your remarks you condemn criticism of LEO. I invite you to hit the preview button multiple times to at least get the grammar correct. Convincing you of how half baked your ideas are is probably beyond me.
” Sarah undercut JD before he could even get started - just as planned. “
Best post so far this year!!
Truth need not be complicated!
” Sounds like Sheriff Paul Babeu is the clueless one. “
Sheriff Joe is our hero out here. I never even heard of Sheriff Baboon until I read this thread!
The National Association of Police Organizations ought to count for something. Good job!
They also endorsed Sonia Sotomayor. NAPO basically an organization of police unions - they have no real political ideology beyond that of supporting that which supports police unions and “fraternal orders”.
” I invite you to keep your mouth of Sheriff Babeu. He fights a battle against illegal immigrants and drug cartels every day. He does such a good job that the cartels have put a price on his head.”
Then why is he backing a traitor like McCain? Sorry pal, McCain bought him.
” Paul Barbeu is one of the most respected and love law enforcement officers in Arizonaright up there with our Sheriff Joe. And you are not.”
Horsecrap!!
I never heard of him until he went on TV whining about(not whining)of being on a hit list.
Do you know how many times Arpaio has had his life threatened?
HUH?
Get lost!
>>> They also endorsed Sonia Sotomayor.
And so they did.
Sotomayor Was Endorsed By Eight Major National Law Enforcement Groups. “Vice President Joe Biden was joined today by representatives from eight national law enforcement organizations, who together announced their support for and endorsement of Judge Sonia Sotomayors nomination to the United States Supreme Court. With these endorsements, law enforcement organizations from around the country stand firmly behind Judge Sotomayors nomination. These groups know her record on crime: as a prosecutor and then on the federal bench, Judge Sotomayor has always been both fair and tough, and has followed the rule of law at every turn.” The groups were: Major Cities Chiefs Association; Police Executive Research Forum; National Sheriff’s Association;
National Association of Police Organizations;
National Latino Peace Officers Association; Fraternal Order of Police; National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives; and the National Association of District Attorneys.” [White House Press Release, 6/9/09]
“Im listening to Doc Watson play Deep River Blues. Next, Windy and Warm. ;)”
Good choice.
Doc Watson is so amazing. He’s in a league of his own. Im just disappointed that more of his stuff isn’t on Youtube. Even some songs that are, aren’t my favorite version. Oh well; that’s what CDs are for, I guess. ;)
I suspect it’s an age issue. Most of the people posting music on Youtube are too young to know that Doc Watson exists.
You’re probably right. Which is a shame. Watson is so good, he makes converts whenever people hear him play. I wasn’t a bluegrass type of music lover when I was given my first Doc Watson album; I was strictly rock and classical. But I couldn’t stop playing that double CD; it was addictive. I’ve gotten more CDs since then. I am a FAN!
I think fate has elected you to be Doc Watson’s Youtube poster. Someone has to do it or all the knuckleheads will spend their entire lives thinking hiphop and rap are music.
Thanks for your vote of confidence! I’ll see what can be arranged. ;)
