"Tea Party Caucus" is a grave mistake
July 20, 2010

Rep. Michelle Bachmann is a good woman. No, a very good woman. So why is she serving the Tea Party on a silver platter to the Alinksyites by creating the Tea Party Caucus?

Rep. Michelle Bachmann (MB) is the #1 strong conservative woman in congress, imo. She's great. She's relentless, tireless, ebullient, wicked-smart--but human. She's giving the Alinskyites (ZZ) exactly what they have been desperately looking for and when they needed it the most: a target to smear and propagandize by proxy--the whole Tea Party Movement (TPM).

Before Ms. Bachmann's bonehead play (too cute by half if you ask me), the ZZ didn't know who to attack and smear. Camouflaged in plain sight and focused on Nov. big time, the TPM was scaring the borscht out them commie rat bastards.

But not now.

MB has given them manna from Heaven = a one-stop clearinghouse to demonize the whole TPM by creating the congressional TPC.

This is equivalent to deer at night turning on kleig lights on the open range swirling them around making sure the hunters have no trouble at all killing them dead.

The TPM's success is mainly attributed to its decentralized organizational structure. Why is the decentralized model successful? Because the model is akin the internet's original design intent: survival even if one node is destroyed (Thanks Vinton Cerf, I think). Because it spreads the risks of an attack (propaganda, smear, Alinsky tactics, fraud, ad infinitum) of being fatal.

Well, not anymore. Now all the ZZs have to do is aim their ammo at the TPC and whatever damage IT incurs will automatically be inferred onto local chapters nationwide.

And you know what? I was feeling good the past couple of weeks, sans DirtBag Ried leading Sharon Angle. I think "our side" gave more hits than it took. But that's just me.

But now MB has turned on the kleig lights, made sure they're swirling for maximum attention gathering and hoisted them up on a blind in and open field to make sure the ZZs know where we are for better triangulation of incoming.

The reason for the TP's success and effectiveness is because there IS NO command-and-control to target the whole movement. MB has now given them that, in spades. Whatever lie told about the TPC will naturally flow down the whole movement. Kinda like blast-spamming your propaganda. How many msm news divisions (ha ha--"news"--ha ha) will create a special TPC task force? The over/under is all of 'em and I'm taking the Over.

What is it about 'pubs that they can't stand progress? (I know there's a joke in there somewhere)

Snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory . . . once more.

TPC is a grave mistake. It gives the dims the target they desperately needed and couldn't find before.

Without the TPC, the ZZs wouldn't have known who go after.

Because the GOP is filled with RINO’s and career politicians protecting their own?

I’m with you... it’s a bad idea. I love Michelle, but the idea is not good.

*NOTE

I re-read this post many times before posting but still there's some sentences that don't really make sense. Please ignore those and be gentle with the rest.

Thanks.

I love MB, but she has to keep out of this to keep it as a grass-roots movement rather than one made by politicians.

She should call it: The Constitutional Caucus.

The absolute WORST thing the GOP can do is worry about WTF the media thinks of them. That’s how we get duds like Dole-Kemp and McCain-Palin

One needs a fresh eye to proof read. Two ways of getting that are (1) do it the next day or (2) have somebody else do it. I think that’s how the professional writers do it - they call in a proofreader.

Were already a target,my concern is that this should be more of a notification to the would be RINO’s than a consultation. There are things that we expect.

I disagree, but I do see where you are coming from in your comments. I believe the Tea Party movement has to move from just protesting to activism and from activism into legislative action. I believe large swaths of the tea party movement are in the activism role already, with increased involvement in campaigns this year. Hopefully the trend increases as we get closer to November. From there, we can’t let the GOP do what Trent Lott wants and usurp the newly elected members and try to mold them into beltway creatures. We need a coalition within the government focused on reform and smaller government. If it goes by a different name, I would be just as pleased. The tea party movement is a true grassroots effort, and I don’t believe that changes if this comes to fruition. While we have no central leadership, we do need leaders. As you mentioned, it is important that this coalition in government cannot take away the essence of the individual leaders in tea party organizations across the country.

I agree. This could end very badly for us.

My other concern: Is Bachmann so ambitious that she would destroy the Tea Party for the imagined advancement of her own position? I say "imagined" because if she screws us over, she'll be sorry she ever heard the words "Tea Party."

” I love MB, but she has to keep out of this to keep it as a grass-roots movement rather than one made by politicians.”

It seems to be an occupational disease of politicians, in general - the need to jump to the front of any parade and start waving a baton....

The Punditocracy is all in favor of this, because they are emotionally incapable of accepting anything that isn’t monolithic and heirarchical...

Playing the devil's advocate here on this. You say that forming the TPC gives the left a focal point from which to label the entire TPM racists, haters, etc.....

However, what are you then left with? The left AND the MSM will demonize the TP WHEREVER they can, and they will plant those labels at their choosing. It will allow them to concentrate on the vulnerable conservatives, safe conservatives, conservative idealists and anybody else they don't like. In my mind, it doesn't matter because it won't stop it.

Now, where could a TPC do some good? It could serve as a momentum focal point, it could give some support cover to those conservative vulnerables and so forth. It can also highlight and therefore help to persuade those troubling RINOs by forcing them to choose.

So, in the balance, I'm not ready to agree with you a TPC is a bad thing.

I like the idea of a Conservative or Constitution Caucus.

I like the grass-roots TEA Party movement, everyone and his brother is hi-jacking the name and movement.

The beauty of the Tea Party so far has been that they haven't been able to Alinsky it... they haven't been able to 'Freeze It, Personalize It and Polarize It.'

Michelle is giving them a target to freeze, personalize and polarize.

As Saul said, ridicule is man's most potent weapon.

Well said. It is going to take some well respected leaders to encourage candiates to run and remain true to the general tea party goals.
