This isn’t directed at anyone personally, but just a general comment....

So, everyone, raise your hand if you started a media outlet yourself. We all complain about the MSM, but am I one of the few with his arm getting tired?

Marching on DC is good. Fighting the political battles with DC is good. But how many people are actually focusing on the ways we are being defeated...the training grounds of schools, the news media, and the entertainment media?

We can fight the symptoms in DC, but the actual cause—if we truly believe that power is derived from the consent of the governed—is The People. And we are being distracted from educating our fellow citizens.

kelly4c, you have the right idea in calling out the MSM—but let’s remember that the Left is the group that’s into tearing things down...how about we focus on *creating* things that are alternatives? Protesting is fine—and I do it—but far better is when we can create something good that outcompetes what the Left has.

And no post like this can be made without a big “Thank you!” to Jim, someone who took action and created an alternative gathering spot for conservatives who were interested in the news of the day.

It’s the freepers with their wealth of information, knowledge, and access to the truth that keeps us educated.

Without the articles posted from a broad range of outlets we would pretty much believe we were alone.

We march, we write letters, we call newspaper editors, we engage neighbors and friends with informed details about various democrat initiatives, just about all of the info gleaned from FreeRepublic.

Short of dancing naked in Macy’s window, there isn’t much more we can do until NOVEMBER.

Thanks to Jim, this site not only exists to share links to news articles but to then provide further discussion and exposure of facets of these articles.

As to starting up a media outlet. What do you suggest? A news magazine? Local newspaper publishing is too expensive a game to get into (unless you are an advertisment paper with just a little bit of commentary/news).

Local papers are a thing of the past. The monopoly press has seen to that.

Share FR with your conservative friends and encourage them to do the same.

The more the Pravda Media is exposed (e.g. Rathergate) the less influence they will have.

Gondring, we've passed the point where we can plan and execute a long term solution such as you suggest, as our primary line of resistance to the rot that's killing us.

Our nation is literally on a precipice. We are staring oblivion in the face. We need to move quickly, and with overwhelming force against the destroyers, if we're to save this nation from certain death.

That doesn't mean that we shouldn't also commit ourselves to taking back the basic control levers in the culture. We need to do that too, but the primary push has to be massive, and widespread protest. More than anything, force is required right now. People must confront and accept this fact, if they want to win what is a very real war.
