Poll: Reid Has 7-Point Lead On Rival

Poll: Reid Has 7-Point Lead On Rival Ads, money get results for senator Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, is facing a potentially rough road to re-election in November. But a new survey shows Mr. Reid with a 7-percentage-point lead over “tea party” favorite Sharron Angle, a former state assemblywoman. (AP Photo) By Sean Lengell Sunday, July 18, 2010 “Tea party” favorite Sharron Angle, a former Nevada assemblywoman, trails Democratic Sen. Harry Reid by 7 percentage points in the latest polls. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, whose re-election bid has been bogged down by poor polling numbers the past year, has a seven-percentage-point lead in a new survey after a volley of aggressive TV ads aimed at his Republican challenger.

It's the largest independent poll lead this year for the Nevada Democrat over Sharron Angle, a former state assemblywoman and a "tea party" favorite.

"He is no less vulnerable [now], but what he has shown is he is a seasoned campaigner and she is a greenhorn when it comes to general elections," said Brad Coker of Mason-Dixon Polling & Research, which conducted the survey. "That's been the difference in the race for the past month."

Results of the Mason-Dixon poll, released Friday, show Mr. Reid with 44 percent of the vote, compared with 37 percent for Mrs. Angle.

Ten percent of those polled said they were undecided. Five percent said they would vote for neither candidate, while 4 percent selected "other" in the survey, which was conducted on behalf of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and KLAS-TV Channel 8.

...this is exactly the sort of thing that I’ve been preaching about on F.R....many on the Right think that Nov will be a landslide...the Dems have tons of slush fund(stimulus) money and will find a way to get new voters to the polls....if we are fortunate enough to win, I expect it will be a squeaker.

In case anyone is still unaware, I have written a book about Reid’s bribe taking, crooked land deals, etc. It is a tough row to hoe to get it out to everyone because of the fear factor. Some of the people I’m interviewing are killers, others have multiple millions at their disposal to crush me like a bug. Click on my name to find out more about the book.

I think the book becomes critical in chipping away at Harry’s lead, so any Freeper help is appreciated. I’m pretty much on my own.

If this POS wins I suggest the decent, god-fearing, patriotic people of Nevada take whatever measures might be necessary to ensure this communist is NEVER sworn in.

Hey it's not all Nevadans. It's the morons down in Las Vegas. They have the population, the unions, the California transplants, the homo's and rug munchers, the liberals, and every other Obama backer.

Hmmm, I'm sure that there is no foul play in this poll.

And, with a lead like that, there is no big need for all the eligible Dems to vote. Time for Nevada Dems to kick back and just relax...

How much more proof do the people of Nevada need to see that people like Reid are leading this country right down the road to fiscal and social ruination? By rights, this imbicile should be DOWN 20 points.

If this clod gets re-elected, it will just confirm how stupid your average voter really is, and how little they pay attention to the issues.

Of course we can’t nominate one of the two electable candidates. No. We have to go with the inexperienced nobody who steps in it at every turn.

"many on the Right think that Nov will be a landslide."

Our biggest problem doesn't come from the plentiful resources of our rivals, but from the inexperience of several of our candidates for state-wide office, not the last of which is Angle.

This is not an entirely unforeseen but perhaps not intended consequence to get people from "outside the beltway". The problem is people from inside the beltway know how to win elections.
