Deakin’s biggest problem is reciting his prepared closing statement.

Now he uses the names of our dead heroes... I really hated the fact that McCain mentioned Pat T in his closing statements. If I had been a McCain voter that alone would have turned me off, instead it just turned my stomach!!!

Agreed, but only if he plays his hand right. He needs to drop out in a week and throw his support to JD. Based on what I heard tonight, I'm not sure he has it in him to do that. He me be too much of an ideologue to compromise like that, so soon in a budding career.

I think he would have a great future, but he's way too naieve to be a senator. He really has no idea that he is only one of 100. He wants to be king not senator.
Of course if he continues to play stalking horse for McCain he won't have any future in politics at all. Most will not forgive him.

I just don't understand why the people of Arizona would vote for McCain. JD is by far a better candidate than McCain.
Just finished watching the debate and I am still baffled how those in the republican party can be so strong against illegal immigration, yet still support McCain for re-election after all he has done to undermine the very things they believe. It is incredulous to say the least.
I am also still stinging from Palin supporting him, I understand her reasoning, but still stunned.

I didn’t really listen to Deakin, so I can’t answer you, Sister_T. I need to see a replay, because I have loud children here tonight.

he should have run for Congress first... get some experience. I still think he’s a stalking horse for McCain, especially after McCain fawned all over him last night.

Senator McCain’s performance was cringe worthy.

I was thinking along those lines, myself. But, at least he is in there, bringing up the US Constitution.
He could be doing that while supporting Hayworth. It is bad enough we have Palin supporting McCain. And I am a huge Palin supporter, but I really disagree with her on her support for the guy who helped the left to sabotage her.
