O.K., I've tried all morning to get the pulse of last night's Arizona GOP Senate Debate, with little success. Found one article but "copyright complaints" prevented me from posting it here. I checked C-Span's website. Doesn't seem to be any re-runs today or tonight.
So, Freepers, from what you've seen, heard and read, who won last night's debate? From what I gathered, Deakin fumbled badly; especially in his closing remarks. Sounds like J.D. got some good shots at McCain's hypocrisy. But....
I dunno. Comments anyone?
Am I right or wrong; anybody?
McCain lost before the debate. Anyone who would want that RINO traitor back in Washington is a moron and a fool. Now, let me tell you what I really think about McCain.....Mr. Amnesty and Mr. Anti-First-Amendment....
Go JD!
FUJM!
Not sure if C-Span has any reruns planned, but you you can watch on demand at:

How the hell does somebody fumble the closing remarks? It’s the only part that’s totally scripted.
Mr. Deakin closing statement was embarrassing for him, he should drop out and John McCain needs to RETIRE and Congress needs TERM LIMITS...
JD won hands down. McCain looked old, weak, and foolish and was caught up in his own lies. McCain’s negative ads against JD look even more desperate and petty because he could not back them up in a face to face with JD.
I think that most people want to vote against McCain but the negative ads gave people concern about JD. I think that concern was overcome last night. I expect a big bump for Hayworth after this and tonight will be even better as McCain was clearly rattled last night. Expect McCain’s head to explode tonight as he could barely keep it together last night.
McCain touted his fake opposition to earmarks and then used 3 of his response times to remind us of all the pork he’s brought to AZ. What an idiot.
Go JD!
FOX News is out there pimping for McCain for all they are worth, so obviously JD won the debate. Kelly whats-his-name just said JD sounded “mean” LOL. Poor fool hasn’t seen any of the really nasty stuff McCain is putting out.
I agree the fawning pictures of McLame and the retread of a single AP story that tries to put a good face on McLame is a pretty fair indicator.
The polls in the next week will be very interesting.
BTW folks, I just read on Open Secrets that 60% of McCain’s campaign contributions have come from out of state.
I detest John McCain, but I always had misgivings about Hayworth. With the infomercial, I pretty much wrote Hayworth off as the wrong guy to beat McCain. I had never seen Deakin before, so I had no opinion of him. That’s how I went into the debate.
In my opinion, JD won that debate hands down. To say that he just won is an understatement. He destroyed McCain. He delivered blow after blow, without seeming to be mean or angry. McCain was his usual self, repeating stupid nonsense like ‘there you go again’ to try and appear Reaganesque. It failed miserably. It was worse than any of the debates with Obama in 08, if you can imagine that.
More importantly than the blows he landed, Hayworth showed a command of the issues and ability to communicate them that the other candidates lacked. Last night, JD Hayworth looked and behaved more like the senator from Arizona than John McCain did. When that happens in a political race, it’s a game changer.
Deakin had an opportunity here to sink or swim. In my opinion, he sank. Not just because he fumbled with his words a few times, but because he seemed to be a one note candidate. I’m all for ‘just follow the constitution’, but that can’t be your entire campaign or you’ll start to sound like a broken record. He didn’t show any substance and didn’t appear to be a viable contender in the race to me.
Based on his performance last night, I would now be very surprised if JD didn’t win the primary. It was a performance that I wish we would see more often from more candidates.
It’s easy.
Did McKennedy open his mouth?
Then he lied.
Did he have a pulse?
He lide.
Was he moving?
He lied.
Ergo, he’d loose a debate with a chair.
I’ll be watching this thread for many unbiased reports.
No let me guess, JD cleaned Mack’s clock, right?
He sounded serious. McLame did come off as pitiful. I'd rather vote for the guy who'll do something rather than be a cray baby who'll hide in a corner every time a democrat wants more social spending. Sheesh.
Those who have had just about enough of big government will gravitate to JD. Those who collect government funds in some way will gravitate to McLame. It'll all come down to who's more determined. Those who pay taxes or those who live off them.
From far left wing organizations, no doubt. McLame is a democrats wet dream.
Glad to hear that Hayworth came through.
.
Well, it’s secret, like everything else this transparent regime does.
its worse than that.
Mclame held on to cash at the end of the 2000 Pres run so he could those funds for this race.
he knew the Pres race was lost in the end and spent none of his money !
The slime !
Particiapants on the site where the debate was presented, gave Mccain about a 15% approval rating, Deakin about a 25% approval rating, and Hayworth about a 60% approval rating.
I was over there out McCain for who he has been. I posted factoids, and asked a number of questions that made him look like a political leper.
I also posted a link to my data: http://www.hotr.us/data/mccainagain.html
McCain kept getting his feet knocked out from under him.
His supporters were saying things like, “I can’t stand Hayworth’s voice.” “Hayworth is attacking him, instead of saying what he will do.” (anotherwords, it hurts when J. D. outs my guy) They tried to trash J. D. based on his hair color. I said, yep, that sure trumps John’s 28 year history of subterfuge and Leftist actions, once again providing my link.
Hayworth detractors talked about feelings with little and silly complaints while our side provided specific instances of McCain selling us out.
It was a real pleasure to see John go from a little over 30% support, to as low as 10%, finally winding up around 15%. If even Deakin’s could whip his arse 25/15, John’s in a heap of trouble.
