In a tiny little Hill blog piece yesterday, there was a blurb on an under-the-radar meeting, one-on-one, between Senator Lindsey Graham and Vice President Joe Biden. This is worrisome on so....many....fronts.
Joe Biden, for all of his gaffes and foibles, is still one smart political operative. He rode the train home to Delaware with Arlen Specter on his way home to Pennsylvania every single weekend for years and is the one that most folks believe orchestrated Arlen's party switch. Interesting piece here on the possibility for a White House job for Specter after his career as a Senator comes to an end this fall. Must be nice.
Biden served on the Judiciary Committee, even as its chairman, for many crucial years and knows the significance of judicial nominations among other important pieces of business that go through that committee. Gang of 14? Remember them? Well, Graham was a key player in that little smoke-filled room and so was Biden.
A great deal can happen in a meeting like this, particularly when no one is watching terribly closely. Knowing that both Biden and Graham really dig the media spotlight, a quiet meeting with no press screams that something terribly political is about to go down.
Rumor has it that Lindsey Graham may announce....

As if he hasn't already.
Also don't rule out a deal on Cap N' Tax.
senate-toe-queen graham....
Ooops. I’m sorry for that typo. Sorta.
How come Pelosi says she “knows with certainty” that the Dems will keep control of the House in November?? Did they already finish doing their backroom deals?
Would y’all consider correcting the tiny typo in the headline? Thanks, in advance.....
Maybe there is some blackmail against Penny Loafer that ‘only’ Plugs can quash.
I suggest the GOP preempt and kick LG’s sorry butt out of the party. He is symbolic and functionally what is wrong with the GOP - smooshy/political/intellectually impaired
Actually, Graham is more of a republican spy than anything else. Perhaps these little meetings are just drops.
He is a homosexual turncoat.
You have an interesting point. But I can pretty much tell you that it is the private, one on one meetings with no press attention...with principals....that is the reason for concern. This is where the strong arming takes place and the deals are made. Even Senators have a tendency to get called to the WH in groups, not individually. Staff take most of the meetings unless there is a decision that only the principal can make....
See why this is so odd? For a Veep to spend his valuable time with one Senator....it just signals to me that there is something goin’ on.
Yep, that Biden is one smooth operator! That party switch for Snarlin' Arlen worked out so well, didn't it? Maybe this will be enough for SC voters to send this fruitcake home for good and we can finally be shed of Lindsey Grahamnesty. Go Plugs, go!
I have a tough time believing Graham would switch parties. That would 100% guarantee his defeat. Probably Graham up to his old McCain Maverick wanna be tricks.
Surely you don’t believe the military chain of command or the employee/employer relationship is akin to the relationship between different branches of our government!!
Graham is supposed to represent his constituents - which he does not. Our VP is the mentally impaired lap puppie for our commie executive leader. Get it straight.
I think it’s cap n tax. Biden is a big supporter and so is Graham, although he can’t get away with it politically yet - Biden is working things out for him, I’m sure.
A job offer for Maverick Kneepads Jr.
I don’t think it is party switching. I think it is about upcoming votes....first and foremost...Elena Kagan.
Maybe Kagan although Kagan has not need for any GOP votes since the GOP will not fillerbuster her. I think like others have said its crap and tax.
That is why I could never be in politics. I could never disobey someone in authority. My life has been completely about following rules starting from birth...lol. My parents of course, went to Catholic School...don’t dare say no to a Nun or even a teacher and then went to Boot Camp one week after graduation and try to say no to a senior person.....HUH! And have been in the military ever since. So no it would no be in my best interest to go into politics. lol.
