Tonight, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) will debate his primary challengers, former Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) and conservative "tea party" activist Jim Deakin in one of only two Republican primary debates.
During the one hour debate, Hayworth will likely concentrate on McCain's 28 years in Congress with a focus on his position on immigration. Deakin said he will compare and contrast his approach in representing constituents to the "other two entrenched politicians." A McCain campaign spokesman said that the Senator "looks forward to a spirited discussion on the issues facing Arizonans."
The LIVE debate will take place tonight at KTVK-TV in Phoenix, Arizona.

Deakin says ‘enforce existing laws’.
Isn’t that what the recent AZ bill (that most Dems oppose) calls for?

JD is doing well making some points, but it seems he could do more pointing out Juan’s hypocrisy and flip/flops on illegal immigration. And he needs to say McCain/Kennedy a few times.

And on the Sunday morning talk shows, Mike Huckabee will claim he’s the front runner because even the candidates for Senate in AZ were talking about him.

Folks, please comment over there and vote for "Immigration" to be the most important issue, and for Hayworth to be the winner. He's slipping and we need help.

And once again, am I a genius or what? I predicted this all. Pretty easy, though. Having witnessed his sorry ass for so long pretty much makes him as predictable as a liberal.

McCain on Social Security and Illegals in 2006 [more at link]:
from
On the Issues: John McCain on Immigration:
McCain voted YES on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security (2006)
- Once that person regularizes his or her status, and as they proceed down the path to earned citizenship, they should have the benefit after having followed the law and made those contributions. That is fairness.
- We should not steal their funds or empty their Social Security accounts. That is not fair. It does not reward their hard work or their financial contributions.
- The amendment proposes to change existing law to prohibit an individual from gaining the benefit of any contributions made while the individual was in an undocumented status. I oppose this amendment and believe it is wrong.
