NEW ORLEANS BP is delaying critical tests on a new well cap designed to finally stop the flow of oil in the Gulf of Mexico after government officials said more analysis was needed on the plan.
...
National Incident Commander Thad Allen said in a statement Tuesday night the process "may benefit from additional analysis" that would be performed overnight and Wednesday. He did not say when the tests would start.

Meanwhile the damned oil is flowing free.
Idiots This is the most incompetent bunch that ever lived start shutting it down clowns!
Hopefully they still have the Helix Producer and Q4000 still collecting and burning off from the choke and bleed lines. They should have hooked up the main collection to the top of the new 3 Ram CAP right away. No excuse not too. We have had very little collection now for at least 5 days. The Gulf is gonna look real bad. Thankfully we got decent skimming weather.
Yep as soon as that cap is on that is domestic crude headed to the US gasoline market. You just gotta believe Obama hates every dollar that could go into our economy . . . the more time that goes by, then the less crude that is produced and the well is shut in.
.Gov has to make sure everyone out there has a life preserver before we worry about the environment.
I can’t see anything hooked up now.
The kill and choke lines were attached to the old BOP. Near the bottom I think. They just got the Helix Producer working today. Someone on the Oil Drum mentioned that the new 3 RAM CAP had kill and choke lines, but I have yet to see them. Could have missed them though.
BP has changed the commentary on the individual ROV page(s) to say that the well integrity test has not commenced. Skandi ROV is making a very detailed inspection of the BOP just below the flange. Does anyone know more?
I guess Obama doesn’t want to take any chance that BP might stop the leak while he is on vacation in Maine. He’s probably setting up a trip to the Golf Course — I mean Gulf Coast for Thursday so he can explain how he plugged the leak.
What analysis is needed? Either it works, or it doesn’t.
