Bomb Threats at Anti Illegal Immigration Rally Overland Park Kansas
KMBZ Radio telphone report by evening host Darla Jay | July 13, 2010 | Pete from Shawnee Mission

Posted on 07/13/2010 7:23:33 PM PDT by Pete from Shawnee Mission

An anti-illegal immigration rally featuring Kris Kovac, who participated in formulating the Arizona anti-illegal immigration law, and Joe Arpaio, the tough Maricopa county sheriff, was disrupted today by telephoned bomb threats and discovery of a package with unknown contents.

The rally, which had been moved once because of concerns by an Overland Park College, continued after police notified those attending of the threat. Overland Park Kansas police bomb units are attempting to determine if the package that was found actually contains explosives.

And they accuse Tea Partiers of being violent. Was it Lenin who said "accuse others of what you do", or was that Saul Alinski?

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

Can't say they were violent, at least not yet.

I wonder what would happen if bomb threats were called in against the NAACP, which is meeting about 20 miles away in Kansas City Mo? You could be certain it would be on the national news.

As far as Alinsky tactics, consider NAACP debating whether the tea party is racist.

Story Update

Overland Park police just directed a water cannon at the package. It didn’t explode, but they have to go in and check out the contents now.

Will advise if I’m up that late.

Will this real violent and threatening behavior from the left get a fraction of the coverage the made-up, phony charges against Tea Party activists received in the MSM?

Probably won’t be a word said outside Kansas in any MSM outlet (assuming it’s even covered there beyond this radio station).

I think it's safe to say that we can expect to see more of these bomb threats in the future. It seems to be a new, and wonderfully effective tactic that the left has just discovered (or just started using).

It will probably be on the local TV channels. I know that Fox, at least, was covering the rally. It might make Fox national. Kris Kovac is running for KS Secretary of State and helped formulate the AZ anti-immigration law that the media hates so much.

Not Big Bob’s Carpet!

Probably a leftist college student. I would like to say a local union steward but they usually have some commitment to the culture (pension, house, truck, family).

Bombing has been used by the left as long as they have been around. The haymarket riots in Chicago (anarchist bomber,) William Ayers and other SDS members in the 60s, the uni-bombers.

Bill Grady reporter from the radio station reports that the package was actually a briefcase, that it was not a threat, the scene is secure and everyone is going home.

No further word on the status of called in bomb threats against the rally. Probably no more news tonight.

Good night, off to bed.

I don't mean bombing, I mean the threat of a bomb. A real bomb is dangerous and complicated. Dropping a dime in a phone, that's so damn easy, and so effective, expect to see more of it.

Didn’t Michelle “My Belle” say yesterday that they needed to “increase the intensity.”

So they succeeded in shutting us up.

Can’t wait to see what the Black Panthers do when Beck goes to D.C. The progressives are itching for a race war...they’ve got to do something to stop the elections.

corrections;

Darla Jay was identified as being on local radio station KCMO. She is actually AM 980 KMBZ.

Misspelled Chris Kovac. Should be Chris Kobach.

Couldn’t talk wife into going. Day began at 5:30 and included 5 hours wandering around in the heat at the KC zoo drinking water and trying to stay hydrated.

I was pretty wrung out by the time 5:00 came around. Thank goodness for talk radio!

Cheap and easy. Almost no one at the rally left, according to reports.
