CBS 5 Poll: Whitman, Prop19 Lead; Senate Race Even
CBS Channel 5 News ^ | July 12, 2010

If the election for governor of California were held today, Republican Meg Whitman would edge out Democrat Jerry Brown 46% to 39%, according to a new CBS 5 KPIX-TV poll of likely voters released Monday.

Brown, currently California's Attorney General, leads by a not surprising 2-1 margin in the Bay Area, but trails in the rest of the state, according to the poll data.

The poll found Whitman, former CEO of eBay, has leads built up among men and affluent voters. She gets 77% of Republican voters, while Brown gets the support of 64% of Democrats. Independents break by a 5-4 margin for Whitman.

In the race for U.S. Senator from California, Democratic incumbent Barbara Boxer and Republican Carly Fiorina are effectively even, the poll found.

Fiorina got 47% voter support compared to Boxer's 45%, which is within the poll's four percentage point margin of error.

The poll found twice as many Democrats cross-over to vote Republican as Republicans who cross-over to vote Democrat in the senate race.

“She (Meg Whitman) gets 77% of Republican voters”

So who are the other 23% of the Republicans voting for, Brown?!!!

She should get 100% of the Republican votes — what are some Republicans thinking, do they want Brown as governor?

The more 0bozo campaigns for these progressive hacks the more their numbers tank. The problem the dims have is that Zippy never stops campaigning. I guess it keeps him out of the office and gives him an excuse to run around in the plane.

Same thing happening in Oregon. Lots of movement to the Repubs. Look for 2-3 new Repubs from here.

As for the gubernatorial race, I don’t see much of a distinction between Whitman and Brown.

Well, there's one difference. Brown has spent virtually his entire adult life in government jobs. Whitman has spent hers being productive in business.

I won’t vote for Whitman. Probably not Fiorina either.

Breathtakingly stupid. Just think what one more RINO in the senate last year would have saved us from.

Nightingale for Governor 2010

Are you kidding? You have only one chance, Brown or Whitman. Grow up. That is how we got King Obama.

Your sentiments are understandable. At the same time, wouldn’t you like to see Jerry Brown and Barbara Boxer giving concessions speeches to their sobbing liberal fans?

I’ll paraphrase Harry Truman: “If given the choice between voting voting for a Democrat and a Democrat, people will vote for the Democrat.”

That Glob poll is about as reliable as pizza delivery on Pluto.

He’s done in 2012. And any POTUS thoughts he has go down with him.

Lots of erstwhile conservative posters over on Calguns are voting Brown because he’s supposedly better on the 2nd Amendment.
