Mika Brzezinski wants to "cut the crap" when it comes to building speculation as to whether Sarah Palin will run for president in 2012. According to Mika, Palin's candidacy is a done deal, and the press is letting itself be sucked into a phony build-up.
Mika is so sure that Sarah is running that on today's Morning Joe she was willing to wager a dubious Jonathan Capehart $1,000. Brzezinski's comments came in response to Politico's report, highlighted by Mike Allen, that Palin has raised significant money and built a nascent campaign staff.

While she and Obama are from opposite sides of the political spectrum, they are both “rock stars”. That is my main objection to her.
Okay, thanks for weighing in, Mitt.
I'd much rather see her head up the RNC.
Damn—how did you know??
LOL, just a hunch...
Mika is right, she has been campaigning since she stepped down as Gov.
“Sorrydont think that in 2012 Americans will be stupid enough to elect another person who is in over their heads. While Palin is far superior to Obama, I dont think she is Presidential material. Quitting as Governor of Alaska (before finishing her first term) was the death knell for her political career.”
First, America IS stupid enough. They also elected Dubya (a governor in a state which in Constitutionally limited), Clinton (enough said) and Obama.
Second, agreed, she is cooked for resigning as Governor.
Whatever. She is now the biggest political force in politics...BECAUSE she left that position. Where would she be without leaving? Mired in 30 more ludicrous lawsuits that are costing her and the state millions.
We haven't elected a General to the White House since 1956 and by 2012 I expect international relations and defense will be such a shambles that anyone with a military background will be a shoo-in. Obama's pathological narcissism won't allow him NOT to run, even if he leads the Demonrats into the wilderness for the next 20 years. So that's my guess -- Obama vs. a General to be named later.
I agree with Mika.
Does the name “Norman Schwarzkopf” make sense in light of what you said?
Handing over the reign of Governor sir, was the best thing she has done. Thank you. Move On
So whom do you think we have who is presidential material?
I don’t buy the ‘Palin is a quitter’ line for a minute. Nobody who has seen what she was put through in ‘08, and how she bounced back to be so positively influential in the last two years should fall for that.
My take is that the Clintons are rattling Obama’s cage with the hint of a challenge in order to force him to swap her in for Joe. Part of the rationale will be to neutralize Palin’s appeal to independent women.
Mika and Capehart-That’s a real cat fight!!
I think substantial international threats would rather see Obama elected than face President Palin, so I think they’ll be relatively quiet through 2012. This will be an election about the economy—and political philosophy as it pertains thereof.
Mika..White House Spokesperson.
She should have ridden out the sh!tstorm for at least one term. Granted, it would have been hell, but it would have proven her mettle to those beyond conservatives. Most Americans (outside of the Freepers) are likely she will now cut and run when the going gets too rough.
Fred Thompson had a different, but similar issue—he wanted the GOP nomination handed to him on a silver platter without working for it.
Where is the diverstiy at All White MSNBC?
