Box left at woman's door explodes (Home owned by oil company exec)

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Local and federal investigators were at a northwest Houston home Friday night where an explosion sent a woman to the hospital.

The woman was opening a package left at her doorstep in the 2100 block of Seamist Court Friday evening. She had found the shoe-sized box in front of her home about a day ago but didn't decide to open it until around 6:30pm Friday.

The woman was transported to Northwest Memorial Hospital with facial injuries that are not life-threatening.

Officials with the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, as well as the Houston Police Department's homicide and bomb squad were at the scene investigating.

It wasn't immediately clear whether the house was targeted, however, Eyewitness News found out the home is owned by an oil company executive.

Get a load of this headline in houston about the box bomb. They don’t even bother mentioning that the home belonged to an oil exec....and it’s just a ‘surprise package explosion’..like it was a ‘gift’ gone awry or something. Nothing to see..move along.

First thing I do whenever I get a package is check the return address and find out who ordered something recently.

Mr. mm is no target but you never know when Al Queda is going to try something like that.

If she was suspicious of it, she should have called the police or FBI, especially considering her husband’s line of work.

Rubbish! Do you think for one minute they would ‘downplay’ this story if it was an abortion clinic? The answer is no. If the press thought for one minute this was the act of a Tea party or conservative person..it would be all over everywhere!

It is very curious that they left out which oil company. I would think the opposite though....that it was a BP exec. It will eventually come out in the ‘new media’ what happened.

I don’t know, I was thinking that the connection would be more obvious if it was BP. The fact that they are claiming some doubt about the woman being a target makes think that it might be another oil company. It’s just a guess, though. Maybe I am giving the media too much credit for integrity.

I'm going to take a psychic guess or two here, since people are speculating...

I'm feeling that it might have been the house of James Brock Moore III, president of Adams Resources Exploration Corp.

I'm also getting that this was at 2102 Seamist Court in Houston, TX, and a name "Vennie E. Wolf" is also coming through. Hmmm...very strong feelings there...I think she might have been the one to open the package.

But yes...James Brock Moore III is also close to this.
