The Queen has more power then i thought.

Beatrix is the same cow-like thinker she's always been.
She has only enough power to make it likely Labour will be tossed into the nearest sluice.

Maybe she's just upset that it looks so grim for her side on Sunday?

why do they still waste time with a queen?

I hope you are right. Maybe call another election and Wilders will win more seats. This is making it tough to cheer for the Orange on Sunday because of this stupid cow.

Considering how readily the Dutch collaborated with the Nazis genocidal policies, and how easily they have adapted to medical killing, even of the unwilling, this should be no surprise.
To: Steve Van Doorn
The problem with doing a center-right coalition is the Christian Democrats, who refuse to join any coalition that includes Geert Wilders’ party (they think he’s a “hater”).
As long as this is their position, it dooms any prospect of a center-right coalition. The Christian Democrats would rather accept a Leftist coalition than be associated with Wilders.

you are saying the queen didn't have to do this?
The Christian Democrats would not create a coalition with the PVV?

Wasn’t it the Dutch king who sewed a yellow star on his clothes in solidarity with the Jews of his kingdom?

From the article:
"The elite of the Left and the regents absolutely want to avoid the risk of a cabinet with Wilders," writes Prof. Ellian. "Wilders has been preliminarily excluded without the elite even considering negotiations with him." Ellian further points out that this is not just an injustice to Mr. Wilders, but also to his 1.5 million voters "who have been excluded from an important political process without as much as one relevant argument."
The left act the same all over the world. 'Leftist elitist' is a redundant term.

Only complete *idiots* make their first post on a subject into something about Nazis.
You completely discredit yourself. Get a new metaphor. Get a job.
Get a brain.
Get lost...

Actually, a quick review of a very interesting website on the history of the yellow star says that King Christian the 10th of Denmark threatened to wear it himself and that stopped Nazi plans to make the Jewish population of Denmark wear it. Also mentioned is that many Dutch citizens wore it as a protest against it.
I do think that the Dutch response to the Nazis was rather mixed. Just one example: some Dutch hid Anne Frank and her family and others in the "secret annex" built in a hidden fashion into a building, but other Dutch turned them in after seeing food delivered to the building.

How can the Dutch, supposedly an advanced people, would allow a Monarch to take away the results of an elections? This is insanity.
PS: I hope that Spain crushes Holland in this Sunday World Cup final.

No, it was the king of Denmark. The monarch of Holland at that time was a queen — Wilhemina. There hasn’t been a king of Holland for a very long time — 3 queens in a row,

What hinckley suggests makes sense to me. The Dutch have a history that coddles with who should be their enemy.
