Stay Alert..(Those promoting Sarah Palin as RNC chair may not have good motives)
me

Stay alert to those who are promoting the idea of Sarah Palin to replace Michael Steele at the RNC. This is an attempt to derail her nomination for the Presidency. There are some out there in the conservative blogosphere that believe the MSM line on Sarah Palin. When they promote the idea of her replacing Steele, they are really saying that she shouldn't run for President.

We may need to hit the nail hard with the strongest hammer we can find. Stuff her down their throats. But we are going to get her the nomination. She deserves the nomination. And then we can unite in time to take back the White House.

she is going to have to appeal to the independents who would hold the balance of power, and they won't be as taken with her as conservatives are.

Repeating that pablum will not make it true.

Independent does not equal moderate.

There are more Republicans who are moderate than there are moderate Independents.

The percentage of Independents who are conservative is greater than the percentage of Republicans who are conservative.

Palin is the number one choice of conservative Republicans and conservative Independents, and after November she'll probably have majority support of every demographic except those belonging to the hard-core communist left.

Figures you’d like these inane worship vanities.

Figures you'd speak of worship and vanities - that's your MO - in your head 24/7.

Rock on Patriot SARAH - mom of five and spouse of the soon-to-be First Dude!

But she is not ready

Wrong! It is YOU that is not ready to be on a conservative site. Your comments show your head is full of MSM mush. Conservatives are repulsed by propaganda; you, however eat it raw.

Well, we will have to agree to disagree. I think if you did some research you would know why she left, they were trying to bankrupt her family. She was afraid of giving interviews in the Governors office. they were trying to destroy her.

As President she would have a team of lawyers working 24/7 and protection from the financial abuse of the ethics laws.

And I feared him alright. He turned out to be McCain’s stalking horse, just like I said he was.

If you don’t want to accept her very good reasoning for stepping down as Alaska Governor, that’s your business. It doesn’t affect the soundness of her decision one iota.

Most people I’ve talked to about it fully understand that she made the most ethical choice for herself, her family, and the people of Alaska by doing so.

We’ve reached the end of the road here. You won’t support a Palin bid for the presidency, and I will. I can appreciate the fact that you’re not rabidly attacking her, but in my opinion, you’d do well to watch her with an open mind. I think you’re going to eventually find that you underestimated her.

Okay, you think Fred turned out to be McCain's stalking horse, and I think the Huckster was the stalking horse.

I still don’t want her anywhere near the oval office, but you’re correct in your assessment. It’s a ploy. I want her to run, and lose big so we can be done with it. Settle the debate once and for all if you will.

I don't think she is. I shall be more specific. She is perceived to be too far to the right.

Personally I don't rate this left wing/right wing paradigm anyway. I don't think it has any relevance for today. It's just a label that gets assigned to people for holding certain values and ideas.

She has to make up her own mind, of course. However, I would say that before the GOP has any hope of returning to power, and indeed before it should be let anywhere near power, it has got to set its own house in order.

Independent does not equal moderate, true. And there may be more conservative independents than there are conservative republicans, but there are still more non-conservative independents than conservative independents.

Independents, by their very nature, are independent! :) They are a mix of many stances. Some don't know, some don't care, many are dissillusioned with all politics. Some are confused, some can't make their minds up, some are just selfish and will vote for whoever promises them the most. Some are far beyond moderate - completely off the scale, and some want a "third way". Many are concerned solely with one issue above all else. They are not an easy group to reach out to, and they are an even harder group to energise. Palin is firm in her beliefs - the question is whether she can transfer that enthusiasm to the mass of the electorate. She's charismatic enough, but she's also pretty exceptional! I'm not convinced that ordinary people can relate to her. Her time might be better spent convincing the waverers in the GOP.

Did Reagan have 60% of the public polls state that they would never vote for him ? NO...

Reagan's polls, especially in 1976, were extremely negative. I don't know what the numbers are.

But I can tell you that the criticisms are exactly the same. You're not a youngster, are you? Didn't you experience that?

As for fawning...do you remember the press treatment of Jimmuh?
