ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) Family, friends and employees paid last respects Tuesday to Sen. Robert C. Byrd.
His casket was carried into Memorial Baptist Church in Arlington, Va., by a military honor guard, and a line formed for the late morning service in this Washington-area suburb. A single red rose, a spray of white ones and the twang of a bluegrass banjo were in the midst as mourners gathered inside a church.
The 92-year-old Mr. Byrd, who died last week, was to be buried later in the day at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, which is near Arlington National Cemetery, next to his late wife Erma.
Mr. Byrd, a West Virginia Democrat who served half a century in the U.S. Senate, died at a hospital in Fairfax, Va. Tuesday's service and burial were the culmination of a week of memorials that included his time lying in repose in his beloved Senate and a memorial in West Virginia's capital of Charleston.

ARLINGTON, Va. Family, friends and employees went to the nation's most hallowed burial grounds Tuesday to bid farewell to Sen. Robert C. Byrd.
Bye bye...
Buried with his sheets on?
How many Klansmen will show up?
Sheets Byrd.
RIH.
From the Washington Post:
"Byrd said in the Dec. 11, 1945, letter -- which would not become public for 42 more years with the publication of a book on blacks in the military during World War II by author Graham Smith -- that he would never fight in the armed forces "with a Negro by my side." Byrd added that, "Rather I should die a thousand times, and see old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.."..."

“Columbia Gardens Cemetery”
Do they have a Klan section?
Byrd should be cremated on the White House lawn.
Is that the “Whites Only” section?
Just as long as he didn’t purchase the plot from Bill Clinton

Remember the “Popcorn” Guy? (Orville bought a plot from Slick and didn’t get to be interned there, don’t know if slick ever returned the money)
Was this on property once owned by Robert E. Lee???
“Your requested URL was not found,” was the message I got both for your link and the headline link. So, tell me, did Byrd ever serve in the armed forces?
Didn’t he die a few weeks ago or something? I think it took forever for James Brown to be buried as well. What’s up with this?
He probably insisted on that.
"He did not serve in the military during the war, working instead as a welder in a Baltimore, Maryland shipyard, where he helped build warships.[citation needed]
Byrd commented on the 1945 controversy about racially integrating the military. Byrd, when he was 28 years old, wrote to segregationist Senator Theodore Bilbo, of Mississippi, vowing never to serve in such a military:
"Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.[5]"
He had earlier written "I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side".[6][7]

Yes, it was confiscated by the then Head Quartermaster of the Union army whose son had died in a battle in which Lee was the Commander of the Confederate forces.
PBUH
Yes... Hallowed Ground, by any definition.

I have zero respect for these lowlife political phonies, and they will burn in Hell for what they've done to America.
