Rick Barber is in a run-off July 13th for the 2nd Congressional District of Alabama. Talk about gutsy. Check out his ads at the link below. He made Keith Oblbermann so mad that he said on national TV, about Rick Barber's ads: "You're a #@%#$^&@ liar and I hope they throw your sorry a** in jail."
Check out Rick's one-minute ads. We need this ex-Marine in Washington.

It was how they edited the segment. They put in a 1.5 second pause before his answers, making him look uncertain and grouping for answers.
If some one here with the expertise would take a hard look we might prove this. Also take out that pause and then watch it and see how it looks.

I definitely characterized the conversation incorrectly in my first post. IMHO, Matthews made himself look like an ass and Barber strongly held his own.

That was a pause for satellite delay, I think.

That is what every one will assume. When an interview both ends that is, are here in the states a satellite is not used.

Thanks for the link. The Matthews dude is a loser.
First I've heard of R. Barber. He rocks. I shall donate. The add with the actors as Founding Fathers is really cool.

We are not “ex” Marines.
We may be retired, but never EX.

I’ve never seen Rick Barber before but I think he was fantastic. Miss Chris had no idea what Rick was talking about. It totally went over his head. He even explained it in numerical terms and Chrissy still didn’t get it. When Chrissy started on audits and asking why Rick was audited, I thought I’d die laughing. Chris actually believes the IRS only audits people who are doing something wrong.
Chrissy is as naive as he is ignorant. I know it’s just PMSNBC but how on earth did he ever get his own show?

I agree that that was a lost opportunity - free advertising on the enemy’s dime even.
That is one of the ways Reagan pulled in the “Reagan Democrats”. He kept it civil and always took the opportunity to explain - to teach - why he believed what he believed.
He had a lot of media experience then, and was an outstanding spokesman.

CM had to ask the same questions over and over and never got a straight answer. It almost appeared that Barber didnt understand [anything].It was Chrissy that did not understand. Barber said He would repeal the income tax and replace with a Fair tax, or a "Consumption tax" he tried to explain to Chrissy that this would not be added to the local sales tax as an added tax, but rather it would replace the already existing income tax. Chrissy latched on to the 23% as a made up number.
In actuality the percentage would be much lower.
Chrissy just did not want to hear that the Consumptin tax would replace the income tax.

This was a live interview and was not editied. That being said there was a delay becasue of the transmission time. Chrissy asked the question, it went over the air to Barber, this takes time. If Barber had been in the studio there would not have been the same delay becasue they woudlhave been on the same feed.

I particularly like his ad that concludes with the 4th verse of the Star Spangled Banner. Its about time we brought back the full song , instead of the shortened dumbed down version

Reagan — very good man. But didn’t he also keep open borders and give absolution to illegals? (I wonder what his opinion was of Islam)
RINOism is a defective gene that appears in every Republican in differing severity. There is the Linseed/McPain variety at its worst and the Reagan variety at its most benign. What no Republican has yet been willing to do is to wrestle democraps in their element.

Chrissy just did not want to hear that the Consumptin tax would replace the income tax.
Chrissy never rejected that it was a replaced tax (8:26), he just wanted to know what the total sales tax percentage would be under Barber's fair tax if a local tax was at 8%.... and so would I.
It's a simple question and deserves a simple answer. And this shows how little you paid attention to what Barber said.... start at 8:15.
Barber answers "Again, it's estimated to be 23%."
So, we have an answer! And it's not "lower", verga.
(yes, I know there will be no income tax) There will be a total 31% total sales tax (with 8% local).
Also, starting at 3:20, Barber responds to a question that in addition to a local tax there will be a national sales tax.
At 8:28 Barber answers that the national sales tax will not be added on to local sales tax. But then he says at 8:47 that on top of a $1 Coke (which includes $0.23 of federal sales tax) you add 8% local sales tax.
This idiot still can't understand that 23% fed sales tax plus 8% local is a total of 31% sales tax when you buy a $0.77 Coke that costs $1.08 at the cash register. (If I were you, I would check his math about 23% of $0.77 being $0.23. It might diminish the man-crush a little.)
This dolt had to be asked several times about how many times he had been audited. The answer should have been a number but instead he started talking about something else and had to be asked a few more times like everything else.
Barber have a history of drug abuse?
Sorry, but this guy is a 'cheerleader politician'. Spits out a few buzz words and catch phrases and people cheer him because he says the things people want to hear. If that appeals to you, great. He's "gotcha" (wink) to vote for him.
I don't need a support group or validation.
I'd just like to hear honest answers from someone who can comprehend what's being asked.

I don't need a support group or validation. That's open to debate. Seriously, your take on this interview is totally whacked out.
Matthews looked like a complete fool and it was obvious from the stupidity of the questions he was asking that he had no clue what he was even asking about. He was trying to get a negative sounding soundbite out of Barber and Barber didn't let him have one.
The audit question was ridiculous and I didn't see Barber avoid it at all. I did see him not hear Matthews a couple of times due to cross talk, but Matthews ridiculous premise that the subject of an audit has to be guilty of something for the audit to occur is just plain stupid.
You've done this strange amount of 'research' on this video, yet you've come to completely whacked out conclusions in the process. Why? Usually when people do things like that, there's some kind of agenda behind it. What's yours?
