CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is introducing what the city says is the most comprehensive gun ordinance in the United States.
At a news conference Thursday, Daley said the ordinance would include a ban on gun shops in the city and prohibit guns from anywhere except inside the owner's home.

So people will be manufacturing their OWN guns at home?
Zieg Heil, dicky-boy.
Why would the Second Amendment only apply to citizens inside their homes?
How many people were shot within the last month. And how many of those were in a home??
Meanwhile, despite the utterly useless Daley’s usual abjectly ignorant arrogance, the gansta murders will continue unabated in the third world hellhole known as the Southside.
As long as Daley’s law applies those restrictions to his body guards and to all Chicago Police, then it’s fine by me...
LOL. They already had strict gun laws. How did that work out for him?
A ban on gun shops in the city? That shouldn’t cause much of a problem since you can simply go to a neighboring town to purchase a firearm. But can a city ban a private business from engaging in commerce that is legal and that sells a legal product?
OK, Daley then I want an armed police officer with me when I am outside my home in your crime infested city. Deal or no deal? Put up or shut up!
Wow. This is seriously gonna put a huge dent in the supply of all those illegal guns that are bought and traded on the streets and are used in the majority of crimes.
Stupid politicians.
They banned Walmart until just recently.
Only inside your home?
So how do you get your gun home from the gun store? How do you get it to the shooting range? How do you take it to be repaired or cleaned?
Perhaps the ACLU should issue a travel warning for Chicago.
He wants to back to the USSC. That’s where his new bans would end up, for sure.
Should be: He wants to GO back to the USSC
Seems to me the Mayor of Chicago is engaging in a pattern of behaviour which deprives the citizens of Chicago of their constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

yep. one is Constitutionally protected, the other is not.
>> So how do you get your gun home from the gun store? <<
You don’t.
>> How do you get it to the shooting range? <<
You don’t.
>> How do you take it to be repaired or cleaned? <<
You don’t.
I'm growing to really hate that word.
