BREAKING NEWS: New U.S. jobless claims rise unexpectedly as employers lay off more workers
Title Only So Far
Obamanomics = EPIC FAIL

That needs to be on a billboard near a large metropolitan area (Chicago).
How can this Administration brag about 13,000 jobs created in June when during that same period, 1.8 million new jobless claims were filed?
Tom, you do know I was writing that in jest. ;)
There. Fixed.
Perfect I want one for a bumper sticker! You can retire off what those would sell for.
Are you ready for more bad news? If you had been laid off eleven days earlier, the government would have picked up 65% of your COBRA tab. But since you were laid off after June 1, 2010, you have to pay the full amount.
I really believed that we could survive just about anything, and in reality 4 yrs. is not that long! I also knew that Obama and the dems would be their usual stupid selves so I just mentally prepared for a tough haul.
HOWEVER!!!! In my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that this administration and congress be this HORRIBLE!!!
Four years???? I don’t think we will survive until 2011 unless something drastic happens like impeachment or arrest!

In a totally unexpected development, revolutionaries storm the White House and Capitol Hill to place the president and Congress under arrest.
They are to be tried for treason by a Revolutionary Court tomorrow...
As one of the small people I can see that people just are not spending money on middle class “luxury items”. The shopping malls are empty, sit down chain food restaurants are empty, National Parks are empty this summer, every one is making due with what they have.
By mid-summer I believe there will be lay-offs of seasonal workers early, simply because they are all standing around looking at each other asking who turned off the lights.
Here are some actual numbers :
Jobless claims climb 13,000 to 472,000
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/jobless-claims-climb-13000-to-472000-2010-07-01?dist=beforebell
The number of people filing first-time claims for unemployment benefits climbed 13,000 in the latest week to 472,000, indicating continued weakness in the labor market.
Although claims have fallen 22% from one year ago, they are up 4% since the start of 2010, according to data from the Labor Department. Weekly claims typically would have to fall below 400,000 to signify improved nationwide hiring trends.
Economists surveyed by MarketWatch had expected initial claims to fall to 455,000. See our complete economic calendar and consensus forecast.
The four-week average of initial claims — a better gauge of employment trends than the volatile weekly number - rose by 3,250 to 466,500, the highest level in almost three months.
While claims tend to align with job growth over the longer term, the weekly data is prone to sharp fluctuations. A clearer picture of job growth will emerge Friday when the government releases its monthly employment report for June.
The U.S. economy is expected to have added 110,000 jobs, excluding the departure of temporary Census workers from government payrolls.
Yeah, I got that info when I got my COBRA info. Good Lord! for my Wife and myself, it’s over $1400 a MONTH JUST for medical, no dental or prescriptions. Now I have to look for a “cheap” private health plan, and my wife has to pay for another part of Medicare out of pocket.
You can’t win for losing, I swear. Someone wake me when the nightmare is over....
OBAMA DEPRESSION worsens
History of Great Depression
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2545028/posts
I am going to go on the record with we ain’t seen nothing yet! If things keep up they way they are our current situation will make the Great Depression seem like nothing!
I am a pretty easy going person, but I would need a tranquilizer to go to the grocery store in the town I just left.
We were inundated with immigrants, believe it or not, mostly from Muslim countries, although I would say, it was a pretty good mix, and the latino’s were just starting to appear in greater numbers as well.
I would get on line to pay for my groceries, counting each and every penny...my husband had seen a huge reduction in work so money was and still is tight. You would not believe the amount of people that had carts full of food and would then pay in food stamps! It would literally send me over the edge!! In my mind I would say, how in the hell do you move across the world and you cannot even feed yourself!!!
During the first depression there were no entitlements, as time goes by, there will be a great undercurrent of anger as those who work struggle will find it harder and harder to feed their families and those who just take skate! Human nature will not accept that.
Flashback to when Bush was in office, and unemployment was below 5%. Predictions of doom were prevalent in the mainstream media, and any small uptick in the unemployment rate was "expected".
Now, with the marxists in charge, doing everything in their power to destroy industry in America, they claim that the economy is in recovery, and thus every uptick in unemployment is "unexpected".
The MSM has no cloths!
They are going to cure this the old fashioned way: The draft. Watch closely now: there will be come major problem in the mid east or korea and the need to enhance our armed forces will arise.
But it will be a new fangled draft—the kind where the draftees take over stateside jobs and dont have to go to war.
Roosevelt got out of the depression by putting millions of men under conscription—and off the welfare roles.
Killing a few million will help too....
its coming.
