i had a thought as i was listening to this crap tonight...

what if a group of citizens got together... and established a project to get the land along the border donated to the project. just about 100-200 feet deep and as far along the border as possible. and in the sections where there is at least 1 mile of contiguous land, start building a proper wall... with appropriate monitoring stations.

this would help increase the property value of those properties along the border, since they would be more secure, and may even generate some revenue... as the govt would have to pay a certain number per foot along the border (the govt would spend more building the wall themselves)

the work crews would be 20 man teams and would work on 1/4 mile sections. maybe 500-1000 teams (shouldn’t be any shortage of labor these days).

maybe put this on the internet and let the community solve every aspect of it... showing what people can do, especially compared to the gov’t.

this might be a bit half baked... but this was the beginnings of a thought. i think it would have potential of becoming reality, considering the number of people that are for the wall. maybe it could take donations, managed by some big 6 firm, and the books would be open for the public to see.

thoughts??

Not a bad idea but the costs would be astronomical. Not because it costs that much to build a wall, but because deep-pocket organizations would file suit over ever yard of fence, plus Obama would have his “Justice Department” go after you as well. He's going to try to break the State of Arizona in this way. Line up your pro bono legal help first to have a chance.

I like the idea. But you can see how Gov Jindal wanted to build sand berms to protect the Louisiana environment from Gulf oil — and the federal government just wouldn’t allow it. Building a wall would be great, but the feds won’t allow it to happen.
