Why can't we demand Obama's resignation?
June 30, 2010 | 13Sisters76

Posted on 06/30/2010 10:24:34 AM PDT by 13Sisters76

Please forgive the vanity post- I know you all hate them. But I am driven to ask this question- WHy cannot the people demand the resignation of this totallly incompetent man? And not just him- ALL his appointees and czars, AND his SC appointees, as well.

In 1973, the media, backed by a handful of leftist activists, drove Nixon from office- who had been elected in a landslide that the demonRATs can only dream of. The majority of the people did not want this to happen, but it happened anyway. Now it is the PEOPLE who want this man and his minions gone, but WE can't do what THEY did? I know, I know- there are petitions out there and I have signed a few. But I am talking a GROUNDSWELL- I'm talking a major concentrated effort by the people. Someone MUST know how to start this. If the lefties can do it, then certainly those with a brain can.

Isn't it time? Can't we DO this? This is OUR country and those with traitorous, anti-Constitutional plans can't stop us if this is what we demand. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm beginning to think we are running out of time.

Thank you very much. You Freepers are as advertised: smart, straight-shooters who don’t mince words. I hesitate to post sometimes. Then, I say screw it - I’m here to learn. I appreciate your help and I’m taking your advice - will settle in and read tonight.

“scuse me while I jump this post. I simply must “say what must be said”

“What appears on the surface to be harsh even “rude” is often what must be said.”

That’s the problem, Toots, you ain’t SAYIN’ anything. Cheap shots don’t count as “constructive” criticism OR debate. And that is all you have offered so far. WHo do you think you are- Bill Mahar?

“Socrates found the best way to get at the truth is through argument which is a kind of battle. My comments are of that form.”

Don’t insult that fine philosopher. He was referring to actual debate. I guess you missed that part of the class.

You seem to have a grandiose impression of what you have to offer. I don’t know you and don’t recall running into you before, but what I have seen here reminds me of others, like you, that I have run into in a rather long life. Negative, foul-tempered EVERY day, having lots of criticism but never an idea. In between your posts, are you out on your porch yelling at the kids to get off your lawn?

You, sir, are a bore. I just had to say what “must be said”.

I’m betting not. We spent a long time in the Army and my husband and I have discussed this unlikely possibility. I believe the military would not turn their guns on the American people. I just believe this.

******************

The military would fragment. So would many law enforcement agencies. We would have a disaster resembling the Spanish Civil War, Beirut and Ulster on a continental scale.

That does not mean it may not be necessary, but it sure is way down on the list of options. Still, widespread slaughter and destruction is better than being subject to Odinga style misrule.

Yes, I do mean that widepread slaughter and destruction is better than being subject to Odinga style misrule.

Some days are better than others. I have certainly posted some things I wish I could take back. I have also wished I could reach though the PC and backhand some people though.

Still, few here are shy. Welcome. I am new here myself.

Who said anything about “sit{ing} back, grous{ing}, and hav{ing} nothing to offer”? If you are giving advice to the grandchildren you love tell them to learn American history and study the constitution in order to learn how their government was created and how it works.

In contrast to my positive input, I am sure you would prefer a bunch of phony high fives to an idea which cannot possibly work. Your real friends tell you when you are wrong.

Your suggestion will do NOTHING. Urkle would pay no more attention to it than Hitler would have a rabbi.

That I pointed out in my first post. No one has refuted it.

Some ideas are worth no more than a laugh this was one of them.

Sorry that I don’t take every idea as valid.

My “namesake” as you call it was family, and you haven't the first notion as to why he “went” republican. Expediency to join the criminal conspiracy that was the republican party of Lincoln post assassination was a strategic move. He later supported Hayes to finally remove federal troops from the South and rectify criminal theft of property. But I digress from addressing an ignorant attack from you, ignorance being something that can be cured as opposed to stupidity which breeds arrogance.

My family fought the Brits in the French and Indian War, the Revolution and in 1812. Every able bodied male in our family since 1798 has served in the Marine Corps (with the exception of 1861-65) and helped found this country. I can assure you they did not care one bit for Hamilton (please don't lump him with Madison and you left out Jefferson- wonder why?-forgetting the origin of the republican party or should I say the Democratic-Republican party). You're right that it would have been better if Lincoln had lived-reconstruction being the invention of the true nature of the republicans of that day— the “democrats” of today. He of course did not care one whit about slavery, speaking of feverish fantasy and manufactured sainthood of this sad ill man who suspended habeas corpus. He did care about his railroad pals and Western expansionism. A distinct advantage true Southerners have is the memory of what it was like to be under the thumb of totalitarian rule. And we do still feel sorry for Johnson (Andrew that is, who tried to mediate the “cleansing” of the South). Ours is not some concocted academic elitist rewrite of history- it is fact not written by the “victors”- we lived it. We lost the dream of the United States in the so-called “civil” war, and began the march of the oppressive federal control of all aspects of our lives. You are quite wrong- I have studied totalitarianism extensively, from national socialism and marxism/communism to the current fascism/statism/corporatism masquerading as social justice progressivism of democrats and republicans in lockstep with a “new world order”, false currency and the loss of our state and national sovereignty. We know who we are and where we cam from, and not all scholars are at Princeton despite your dislike of DiLorenzo. That knowledge is upsetting to the elitists of both our imbecile political parties and television idiots. There is a reason Lincoln's statue is in obambi's’s office and it has nothing to do with a false conservatism or being from the whore state of IL and a total incompetent puppet. You want to call all this babble—It's OK- the South will survive all of this—we've had considerable experience with tyranny and the need for secession and freedom- which was right then, and apparent now. “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security”. Thus ever to tyrants, then and now.

My husband believes that soldiers will follow orders- not that they are mindless, but rather, well trained. He and I disagree on their reaction. I believe that the overwhelming majority of our soldiers are “us”, our sons and daughters and I just can’t see them following such orders. All three of our children have served as well and I can tell you, the discussions around Sunday dinners here have been interesting, to say the least!

It would be so nice to dust off those old words- “treason”, “liar”, “communist”- and apply them where appropriate, wouldn’t it?

Didn’t say military, said citizenry which may include the military You don’t need a “clause” to protect God given rights- you exercise them. You surely know this particular cinc thinks the “document” is a listing of negative rights - a living document to be gotten around, and thinks that our rights are given to us by the all knowing govt. and they need to be spelled out to us to direct us in all our lives. In short, a tyrant. Deo Vindice.

Well the thread you jumped in on was discussing the legality of a military-style coup. Do try and keep up.

“If they operated in the open like that they would be attacked as happened to the Bonus Army in 1932.”

Let’s insert a few facts. The Bonus marchers were not attacked.

The Bonus marchers had been infiltrated by communists, “red flag wavers” and anarchists. These rabal rousers had occupied federal buildings under construction. DC called in the police to evict them, and the communists met them with bottles, rocks, bricks and small arms fire. Many police were injured and one died.

After that, the army was called in to remove them. Today, we’d probably cheer that action. The incident has been much maligned by leftists and used by the federal fascists in Washington to scare Americans into believing that the military will be used to kill you if you don’t obey. It’s a nice bogeyman.

The period between 1910 and 1935 was lovingly called the “progressive era” by the communists. During this period, America experienced bombings, shootings and violent strikes, all in an attempt to overthrow our government.

I place the blame for it on the millions of proto-Marxists from Europe that were allowed entrance to America by lax immigration policies from 1890 to 1920.

No I don't. That is why I oppose such extra Constitutional measures being discussed, such as a military coup.

The mood of the nation has swung against this leftward statist movement by both parties; the proper outlet for that dissatisfaction is at the ballot box.

When elections are canceled, or shown to be a sham, then I will put down the ballot box and pick up the ammo box.

Until then, the ones advocating shredding the Constitution are those advocating a military removal of the President.

Nearly half the likely voters still support him. That’s why we can’t demand his resignation.

...along with 95% of the media, which is where the rubber meets the road for public demands of any kind. So long as NYT/LAT/WP/NBC/et al support the manchild, he's safe. Even if his rating were to drop to -40 it still wouldn't matter if the media have his rhetorical back. It's when the press starts printing the context and pointing out how the powerful one is manipulating facts and opinion that the real pressure starts to be brought to bear.

And not before.

you aren't gonna get it until a million + patriots surround the White House & demand he leave.

Even then it ain't gonna happen on that scenario. As Psalm 144 pointed out, the demonstrators will get the Bonus Army treatment, which will be ugly but made to look like a patriotic suppression of a violent and subversive cult by the same mainstream press that is protecting the man's current image.

You post sounds impatient. 13Sisters76 simply asked a question. It is not the most penetrating question I’ve seen, but when I saw the header I clicked, having thought much the same thing, though silently. It doesn’t do a lot of good to harangue someone who is still finding their way and appears to be solidly an ally.

I can’t go further with this thought without being intrusive, but I think you can see where my thought was going.

My main point was not to equate the politics, but the tactics in such a situation. Such a gathering would be dispersed by force.

I agree on this: “I place the blame for it on the millions of proto-Marxists from Europe that were allowed entrance to America by lax immigration policies from 1890 to 1920.”

But would include the Germans driven out in 1848 as well.

Marxism is indeed a European disease.

If Biden took over, wouldn't he be allowed to select his own VP? Then, if both the president & VP are removed at the same time, then the Speaker of the House would take over. If we wait until the Speaker changes, we might have a better chance of having someone capable in the White House.

“It is not the most penetrating question I’ve seen,”

It wasn’t meant to be “penetrating”, it was fairly simple and straightforward. The left was able to remove a president they didn’t like as he was not on board with their agenda. It had nothing to do with criminality, as criminals and crooks are their “bread and butter”, if you will. Well, there are more of us and WE don’t like the destructive actions of THIS administration- so why can’t we demand the resignation of this entire group? Fairly simple, wouldn’t you agree? If you don’t mind, I’ll save “penetrating” for a more philosophical thread.

As to “finding my way? Gee “Dad”, yer so patronizing. I “found my way” when I realized my fellow hippies were on the wrong track and I went to work for Reagan’s campaign- twice. Since then, I have waged letter and email campaigns, my representative knows me by name, I have attended town hall meetings, board meetings and am part of the tea party movement. I went to DC last summer, am going again on Aug 28 and twice to Atlanta. I have raised three bona fide and dedicated social and fiscal conservatives and one is my own little “Sarah Palin” and plans to run for office here. Husband and I are both members of right to life groups and the NRA.

Perhaps you are not the type of poster that “arrogantsob” is. One would hope not. What he does, does not rise to the level of “harangue”. He hasn’t had a single positive idea and seems to be shooting for the “cheap shot” award, only. Since we all know such folks, even on “our side”, I am choosing not to encourage the ankle biter any further.

Now, as to the initial post- I “ax” ya, do YOU think it’s possible? Do YOU know anyway it could be done? Do YOU know anyone who is actually working on this?
