I’m betting not. We spent a long time in the Army and my husband and I have discussed this unlikely possibility. I believe the military would not turn their guns on the American people. I just believe this.

The military would fragment. So would many law enforcement agencies. We would have a disaster resembling the Spanish Civil War, Beirut and Ulster on a continental scale.

That does not mean it may not be necessary, but it sure is way down on the list of options. Still, widespread slaughter and destruction is better than being subject to Odinga style misrule.

My husband believes that soldiers will follow orders- not that they are mindless, but rather, well trained. He and I disagree on their reaction. I believe that the overwhelming majority of our soldiers are “us”, our sons and daughters and I just can’t see them following such orders. All three of our children have served as well and I can tell you, the discussions around Sunday dinners here have been interesting, to say the least!
