INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Supreme Court upheld Indiana's voter identification law in a 4-1 decision released Wednesday.
The state's highest court heard arguments in the case in March. At the time, they questioned why plaintiffs didn't list any victims of the 2005 law, though it had been in place through several election cycles.
In the majority opinion, the court ruled, in part, that "it is within the power of the Legislature to require voters to identify themselves at the polls using a photo ID."
The League of Women Voters had argued that the law violated the state constitution because it imposes a requirement on some voters but not all -- noting that absentee voters aren't required to prove their identity.
The state appeals court in 2009 threw out the law in a 3-0 decision. That ruling was vacated, and the ID requirement remained in place.

This is the single thing that will crack ACORN wide open.
They’ll just ramp up their absentee voter program.
What we have here again is another step in the revolution to take back this country from the “takeover”. States are beginning to stand up and take many matters into their own hands. Telling the laxed Federal Government to get out of the way of OUR way of doing things. The RIGHT way!
BOYCOTT INDIANA!...................Especially the Colts.......;^)
Yes!
I’m laughing with you now, but all this means is someone will take it to Federal court now saying their Constitutional right to cheat have been denied.
With this in place we can focus much more closely on the absentee ballots and do a year by year comparison of the numbers of ballots asked for and those that are rejected to see if the Dems will change tactics. Around here they scrutinize every one of them when they come in, my mom is one of the one doing the checking and comparison of signatures. Problem is in places like Indianapolis and Gary don’t do that if they think it will benefit their candidate.
“sobs coming from the Indiana Democratic Headquarters”
Amen to that! Now the other 56 states need to enact similar legislation! Wisconsin is really effed up with the liberals in control for so many years.
Actually I’d like to see the Cowboys and the Colts meet in the Superbowl again!............
Excellent! Amercians stand up and are proud to be counted. Itis the illegal alien and illegal voters that want to hide in the dark.
does anyone have a link to the decision, or the name of it? It’s probably an interesting read.
translation: vote fraud will be done by bulk absentee ballots. (see cumulative voting)
Wow! Excellent news!
This will certainly make Democrat vote fraud a little tougher for them to pull off.
As far the Democrats switching their fraud efforts to absentee ballots, at least those ballots leave a paper trail. As long as the Republicans have enough feet on the ground and the rats don’t control the attorney general’s office, Democrat vote fraud can be limited and Republicans will stand a better chance of winning fair contests.
... Determining that this case presents only facial challenges to the constitutionality of the Voter ID Law, we now affirm the trial courts dismissal of the complaint, but without prejudice to future as-applied challenges by any voter unlawfully prevented from exercising the right to vote....
Thus, if an actual 'injured party' i.e., "any voter unlawfully prevented from exercising the right to vote", can be scrounged up by the LoWV they can re-file the case.
I suspect that even if they are able to locate same, they've got a tough row to hoe for this to succeed.
Bingo.
Ping!
Hmmm...haven’t heard much about voter ID lately...
Woo Hoo!!!! I’m proud to be a Hoosier today (even though I am a Boilermaker) ;-)
Great news from Indiana!!!
What I find mind boggling is the fact that I need more ID to buy cough medicine than I do to vote.
