Rand Paul Won’t Say How Old the Earth Is
Charles Johnson
The Lizard Annex 6-28-2010

From PageOneKentucky.com, here’s a video of GOP candidate Rand Paul addressing a convention of Christian homeschoolers, and dodging a question about the age of the Earth.

The questions asked by the homeschoolers in the video: 1) are you a Christian, 2) how old is the Earth, and 3) will you let the UN take our children. Yep, really. And these are the teachers asking these questions. They’re raising a generation of kids who are ignorant anti-science fanatics, afraid that the United Nations is going to come and kidnap them. Good grief.

Did he dodge the question because he’s a creationist and he knows that he shouldn’t reveal it for political reasons, or because he’s not a creationist and he knows he shouldn’t reveal it for political reasons? Either way, this is very sleazy behavior.

My opinion: I think he probably is a creationist, just like his father Ron Paul, because his world view matches the creationist world view in every respect.

“Public Education” is not education at all, but communist/socialist indoctrination.

Only home schoolers and a few private schools actually provide an education.

“Industry is free to hire YEC geologists to help in oil exploration; but they do not because YEC is not a predictive science”

You are simply out of your mind!

There are few in oil exploration that are not rock solid creationists. Most are rock ribbed Baptists.

Thanks for the update...so now we also have a timeline...... - Graduated HS in 1991 (we assume)

Nope.

- Couldn't cut college though you tried twice(through 1993)

Nah, I liked Liberty University fine. GPA was really only marred by my two "F"s in my mandatory Religion classes -- which I didn't attend, because I objected to them being mandatory.

But, yeah, I hated OU.

- Couldn't make it in unskilled labor in Alaska (1994 and beyond?)

Just 1994. Salmon fishing was great, crab fishing not so fun; but I did leave when the Halibut season ended. It gets kinda cold up there after October.

- Went to work for a notorious boiler room and could have actively participated in a criminal enterprise(did you even have a Series 7. Probably the easiest professional examination in America)(mid-1996)

I did think that the Series 7 was awfully easy. You're right about that. Even tutored an weekend Options class for Stratton when I worked in New York.

- Bum in the Florida Keys (I'll bet your Mitsubishi was really tricked out and a chick magnet. See next point)

Stock Broker in the Florida Keys (Still had my 7, don'cha know). But that's pretty much the same thing as a bum, I'll admit that.

- Couldn't find a woman your age so you got a young and impressionable woman to marry you.

Very young, indeed. And very cute.
You're right, I'm certainly not complaining.

Hmmmmmm........ A record of stunning mediocrity with no apparent success at anything after high school. And you are lecturing the anonymous masses on theology and economics. Is this a great country or what!!

And yet, you find my life so utterly compelling, that you're obsessively compiling every bit of personal information that you can gather on me.

I'm touched, and deeply honored. I accept your awed fascination with complete goodwill.

I'm sorry that your own life fails to inspire any such fascination on my part, but I can certainly send you some votive candles, if you'd like. Feel free to print off my profile picture for your shrine.

You can't actually glean any of my power by holding it closely to your heart (so far as I know); but if it satisfies any of your deep emotional needs, I'm glad to be of help to you.

“I thought Christians were supposed to leave the judging to God?”

.
Than why does the Bible give so much instruction on how to judge? - Or give the commandment: “Judge righteous judgement!” ??????

If Rand Paul is a YEC, then I don't want him on my school board.

If you were a conservative, you wouldn't want a school board, at least not a public one.

Catholic schools are not in the faintest way Christian, and academically they are in the sewer these days.

They don’t teach history, civics, constitution, etc.

Those that teach “evolution” are teaching jibberish, since there has yet to be a shred of evidence to support that absurdity. (and mountains, literally, of evidence against it)

So, was the author of the prissy hit piece there?

In my lifetime, the age of he earth has morphed from a few million years to BILLIONS of years. That’s three orders of magnitude of change in just, what, 60 years.

And NONE of these people who make these claims were there at the creation of the Earth, so they don’t really know.

All they are doing is INTEPRETING DATA, usually heavily filtered by their biases.

Precisely correct. Johnson sees what he wants to see.

And what he sees, is that Rand Paul is probably a Creationist. And he doesn't like that one little bit.

Too bad for him. Intrade has Rand Paul at almost 70% To Win.

“Religions” that affirm that an individual is a “good person” may be “attractive” to that person, but it is doing a huge disservice by affirming a lie and leaving them thrashing out there trying to justify themselves through “works”, when such works amount to nothing in the realm of salvation.

Rom 4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Thank God Salvation does not depend on us, but Him.

See, I thought as much, given the few "oil guys" I know myself.

BUT, that's an admittedly small and anecdotal sample, so I happily defer to your better knowledge of the tribe; that's one industry I've never worked in, or even near.

“And because Newton’s equation for the universal gravitational attraction of Mass didn’t and couldn’t include God as one of its factors...”

.
Now that we’ve established beyond a shadow of doubt that you’ve never read any of Newton’s writing, where do we go next?

Did some surveys for Seismic, and they were about the most Christian bunch I ever worked with. They often joked about the few among then that clung to evolution nonsense.

The evos never lasted more than a few weeks there.

How do you explain this?

You make up facts?

Or maybe when ever that happens a major push is made but the Communist organization known as the ACLU, pumps lots of man hours and money to beat back the conservatives. Works sometime, but not always.
