As expected, Mayor Daley and Chicago's City Council are circling the wagons to defend against an unfavorable decision by the Supreme Court concerning the city's gun ban.
Daley said the city would have in place a new ordinance aimed at making it difficult to purchase and own a gun in Chicago.
"We'll publicly propose a new ordinance very soon," Daley said at an afternoon press conference concerning the gun ban.
"As a city we must continue to stand up ..and fight for a ban on assault weapons .. as well as a crackdown on gun shops," Daley said. "We are a country of laws not a nation of guns."

Well Mayor you forgot we do have an Amendment 2.
Well right there he blew it ... if the USA is a nation of laws and the SCOTUS came out with their opinion ... I mean, even Cheryl Crow would understand that ....
And then Daley finds U.S. Marshals on his doorstep to place him under arrest for contempt of court.
Then why do LAW ENFORCEMENT agents carry guns? 'Splain that, Mr. Daley.
The SCOTUS told this thug Daley what the law is and he's just announced that he intends to violate it under the color of law. He needs jail time with his co-conspirators.

Approx. 80 people were shot in Chicago over the past week and a half and I don't think assault weapons were involved.........
Evacuate the tourists and call in the National Guard......

They can’t control the criminal element’s possession of illegal firearms, so they go after citizens’ right to own firearms to protect themselves. The answer to illegal possession of firearms may be as simple as “ Use a firearm to commit a crime...10 years at hard labor...no probation...no parole...no color TV...no internet....no pool tables...no exercise equipment....etc.
The Chicago City Council is fast-tracking legislation to require registered handgun owners to buy very expensive liability insurance-up to $1,000 by some estimates.The Rats always have a plan B and plan C in case they don’t get their own way.
If you live in Chicago go out and get a gun while there is no law.

Disarming the people doesn’t seem to be working. Perhaps Mr Mayor, if you led by example; You should turn in your guns, and have your security guards give up theirs, and the police, what do they need guns for? (sarc)

One thing that will apparently be legal to do, may be to require registration of the guns we are allowed to have in our homes. Of course, many will be against this, but on the other hand we need to ask ourselves if we want the police to be able to track the path of guns used in crimes, which is what registration facilitates.
