Arizona Senator Jon Kyl has confirmed, Arizona is, in fact, on the border with Mexico. Kyl sent Milwaukee County Supervisor Peggy West a letter in which he says, "You will be interested to learn that Arizona does indeed share a border with Mexico. I have enclosed a map for your convenience." Kyl goes on to urge West to, "actually read the Arizona law before forming an opinion about it." West appeared confused about Arizona's location during debate about a measure that would have had the county boycott the state over its controversial new immigration law. She said, "If this was Texas, which is a state that is directly on the border with Mexico, and they were calling for a measure like this saying that they had a major issue with undocumented people flooding their borders, I would have to look twice at this. But this is a state that is a ways removed from the border." RELATED CONTENT: Senator Kyl's Letter West did continue to talk about troops on Arizona's border. She later explained that she meant to say Texas had a longer border. "Had Texas come out with the legislation, having the largest border, I think that I would be more receptive to the fact that there was a problem. But having it be Arizona, having it be the second largest boarder and knowing there are troops on the border in Arizona, it didn't seem to me that this legislation was particularly necessary at this moment in time," West told Newsradio 620 WTMJ. The county sent the measure back to a committee.

I watched that video on YouTube and I was dying. Sometimes things are so sad that you just have to laugh about them or you’ll go insane.

“Ive known people (usually female...not to be sexist though) who, due to a lack of spacial understanding, just couldnt read a map....”
Me too. I was born to one, and married another.
Hey, if every sent her a map of the US-Mexican border, pretty soon, they’ll have enough to give every kid a map (and more).
Good for their geography class I guess.
This is going to be fun!....Thank you!
Peggy West is an ignorant rhymes-with-hunt.
Whats scary is that her IQ may be higher than the average democrat voter.
what is the “Human Service Field”? Is that part of the Human fund?
She obviously didn't know Arizona was one of the 4 states that border Mexico.
She must have thought it was one of the 49 that didn't, like 0.
I sent a large Arizona map.....
0 thinks there are 53 states that don't border Mexico.
Welcome to dysfunctional Milwaukee County. Yesterday, a part of a county owned parking structure fell and killed a 15 yr old kid. The CHAIRMAN of the Milwaukee County Board came out within an hour and blamed the Milwaukee County Executive (who is the Republican candidate for Governor)for the death because of not putting enough money in the Parks Dept budget for maintenance of county owned structures.
The CAUSE of the collapse of the facade is not yet known, the county will in 100% certainty be sued, and the Chairman of the County Board comes out less than an hour after the accident and claims the county is to blame for deferred maintenance? The County Board is inhabited by complete idiots, and it is hard to choose who is most stupid, Ms. West for her lack of geography acumen, or the County Board Chairman Lee Holloway, who by trying to score political points, has probably cost the county a fortune by claiming the parking lot facade collapse was the county’s fault 100%, rather than the architect who designed it, the contractor who built it, the company that supplied the materials, etc.
As of now the lot is still closed, and no cause has yet to be determined.
LOL, that would be hilarious.
“But this is a state that is a ways removed from the border.”
Later...
“But having it be Arizona, having it be the second largest boarder and knowing there are troops on the border in Arizona, it didn’t seem to me that this legislation was particularly necessary at this moment in time,”
So if is quite a way removed from the border, how can it have the second largest border? Please explain, Ms. West. I am very confused, you lying scumball.
You have to realize that Arizona, as originally conceived, was to be where Illinois is now.
All Wisconsin geography text books show Arizona to be in this location; they got a great deal on them from the publisher because they had an error somewhere, but they didn’t know where...
.
Here’s my e-mail to Senator Kyl:
Dear Senator Kyl,
As you were concerned too for Peggy Wests sense of direction, I fealt obligated to send her a map of the Arizona/Mexico border area. I advised her to curtail criticism of the great state of Arizona until she takes a geography class.
Best Regards!
