. . . requires welfare recipients to sign a pledge that they will use their benefits only to meet the basic needs of their families. WOW, that is really getting strict!

unfreakin’believable.
Hard working taxpayers were funding slackers gambling habits.

What's next?
Maybe the Governator will tell them that they can't use their welfare cards to buy cocaine and marijuana either!
Oh, the humanity!

Instead of just banning use of casino ATMs, the Governor should require a check of casino winnings against welfare rolls before payout. IDs that match are subject to confiscation of all winnings and loss of welfare benefits. Lottery tickets too.

Well when Michelle Obama worked the soup kitchen a few weeks back it seemed every customer had a cell phone camera to get their picture taken with her.
I don’t know why this stuff surprises people in the press. Anyone who lives a middle class lifestyle in this country sees this all the time.

Hel-lo, the issuer needs to be smarter than the card. They could just issue those cards with limitations coded into the mag stripe that would only allow them to be used for food purchases at grocery stores. No cash back from purchases or cash withdrawls. Just like getting a prepaid QuickTrip card - you can only use it at QT for gas or purhases.

Dang it! Busted again. Might as well forget the Indian
casinos and start driving the extra 60 miles to Reno.
Last time I left “the biggest little city” I should
have told them “Awl be bock”.

They have essentially been handing them cash. It’s idiotic.
They can go to any ATM machine and then go to the casino.
The casino can just install an ATM across the street.
These new rules will change nothing.
That’s why welfare programs never gave out cash in the past.
