I can’t get over him saying he voted for Obama. I thought he was supposed to be smart?

Roger that. I can't believe he admitted it. Is there something shrewd about claiming this, in his position, that I am missing?

With him voting for Obama just means he has a BIG PROBLEM with McCain at the helm!!!!!! wonder what it is? hope someone asks why a military man wouldn't vote for his 'military brother'

I disagree. Obama fooled a lot of people with the message of “Change”! And made many promises that sounded good.

I am sure McCrystal’s eyes were opened to the “Changes” that happened so far, and to what he was subjected to in the military affairs!

So MCCrystal is a bit of a liberal, and he has a right to be if that is what he is! At least not a leftist!

Obama can piss up a storm if he want to! He is the One who is truly STUPID!

Isn’t it also an irony that all three were “macs”? Maybe just one more “mac” needs to lose his current position.

I'd also like to see Mitch "mac"Connell on that list too.

I’d say a supremely ambitious one.

He has saved his reputation and I think enhanced it

He saved his reputation at the expense of his men, how on earth can you admire that? While he's in a nice safe place, his men are still in Afghanistan dying because of his lack of courage to do what was right when it was needed. Instead he saved HIS sorry butt.

What I think is McChrystal is going to come out and say he was in fact a liberal who believed in social justice. Then he will say that after witnessing the failure of “hope and change” he decided to change his political views for the sake of the country.

A 4 star general saying this carries a lot of weight.

I agree. Why are so many people thinking that McChrystal is some kind of rogue conservative messiah when his record clearly proves otherwise?

Well either he voted for 0bama and is stupid, or he didn't vote for 0bama and is a liar.

Unfortunately, the political/racial climate being what it is; trying to see things from McCrystal’s position; claiming you voted for 0bama gives McCrystal “cover” and “credibility” to bad mouth 0bama from what seems a more reasonable position than ‘I thought the guy was an empty suit from day one’.

Did he resign or was he relieved of his command? I have seen both being used interchangeably by the media. There is a distinct difference!

I don’t buy into - for one second - the too cute by half rationalization that this was planned. The guy is an oddball. In a weak moment, his hubris caused a lack of discipline.

“Why are so many people thinking that McChrystal is some kind of rogue conservative messiah when his record clearly proves otherwise?”

####

The bottom line is this commanding general voted for the Senator with clearly THE MOST LIBERAL voting record in Congress. Essentially, voting to put a racist Communist in place as Commander in Chief of the US Armed forces.

Disgusting.

Strategy or conspiracy or war games or politics, take your pick. McChrystal says he voted for Obama, something that he could have kept private but must have seen a gain or advantage to himself by going public. Now he places himself in a position to get fired and his boss, Genl Petraus moves down a peg making room for an Obama replacement who will carry out whatever the new plans are. Whom do I trust? Nobody.

Eggzackly!

After the deadliest month in Afghanistan for our troops with ridiculous ROE's, it appears as though the lib-Gen was doing some CYA.

how often have you read Rolling Stone magazine?

I never have. But enough people do that what it has of a controversial nature gets straight into the MSM. Another case in point. The Edwards and the Gore sexual mess were never in the MSM until the National Enquirer put them before the public. How often have you read the National Enquirer?

The reason I ask is because Rolling Stone regularly features overly-paranoid articles concerning the military.

Military as thugs - rapists - murderers.

Yes! They may even turn on us someday!
American soldiers may even become genocidal maniacs!

I cannot believe a military guy would ever entertain the idea of giving one of these morons 1 millisecond of his time.

He must’ve never read it either.

Two things. Generals always are in safe places. Secondly he tried to help his men by asking for proper equipment and support. Osama shot him down and chewed him out for trying to change the wonderful plans the White House had. Now his sorry butt can speak out and I hope he does to expose the crappy way the great Zero and his staff are handling the way.

Isn't it interesting that Osama has to revert back to the Bush methods of fighting the war?

oh and one more thing.

Of the young people I know who regularly read Rolling Stone?

These are your kids who - obviously- love music.

So that’s why they get hooked in the mag in the first place.

But then it leads to them getting their “news” there too.

So they wind up with a very VERY contorted view of the world - and in their minds it is “cool” or “progressive” because it’s Rolling Stone.

These kids are VERY anti-military.
