In order to control what you think and do in the present,
they must control what you know about the past.

Remember when the president called out The Supreme Court for passing a decision (on campaign finance) that he disagreed with?
Obama blasts Supreme Court campaign-finance ruling
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/obama_blasts_supreme_court_campaign_tOT5xanJWmjG3d0u8h7E4I
President Barack Obama on Saturday sharply criticized a Supreme Court decision easing limits on campaign spending by corporations and labor unions, saying he couldnt think of anything more devastating to the public interest. He also suggested the ruling could jeopardize his domestic agenda.
I cant think of anything more devastating to the public interest, he said. The last thing we need to do is hand more influence to the lobbyists in Washington or more power to the special interests to tip the outcome of elections.

Says the man who renegged on his pledge to limit his own campaign coffers.
Barack Obama is unfit to be president. He’s unfit to be Commander in Chief.
No reason for the public or military to hold their tongue when he has repeatedly trashed America on foreign soil. He has had NO good words to say about those who led this nation before him when addressing a foreign audience.

The only constant is pure blind obedience to the emperor.
How they can live without morals or dignity is beyond me.

"How long before Google gets a phone call...?" Google can remove their cache, but the WayBackMachine already has 19 copies of that page (dating from 2007-2008) archived: LINK
But I don't know how (or how long)) Petraeus can accept Obama's slapdown of a demotion. Petraeus was McCrystal's superior and his replacement will be his superior.

Before it disappears down the rabbit hole, here's a screen-capture of the MoveOn.org page that was still up as of this weekend (6/18/2010) and is "mysteriously" gone the second Obama selects Patraeus:

It’s been a long time since I had anything to do with the military, but I pride myself on being able to identify most things that military people wear on their tunics/blouses. All I ever had was an Army Good Conduct medal, a National Defense Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal. But I don’t know what that device is that is located atop Gen. Petraeus’ rows of ribbons. It’s located where the CIB is normally worn; that doesn’t appear to be a CIB. Can anyone ID the device?
