Oil was again gushing uncontrollably from the BP spill site on Wednesday after the company was forced to remove the containment cap when a robotic submarine hit a vent. The news came as officials also reported two deaths in the response effort.
BP hoped to reinstall the cap later Wednesday after fixing the vent and checking for safety.
Earlier Wednesday, BP said that Bob Dudley was appointed to head the new Gulf Coast Restoration Organization, which is in charge of cleaning up the oil spill.

Maybe the damaged vent was also some sort of sabatoge by our post-Amkerican governemnt ? Again, with these guys, it isn’t something you can rule out. Creating more setbacks and buying more time of oil flowing uncontrolled does work well in parallel to interferring, even now, with Jindal’s efforts to keep his state clean and refusing help from Europe and anywhere else (I thought he was tight with Europe and Asia and most nations that aren’t America, what is with that anyway ? ).
Well, that’s certainly an interesting detail... I don’t know if I buy the bit about it not being work related. I guess we’ll have to see what, if any, information we do hear on this. I had heard that the deaths were due to a submersible crash, but that thread got pulled before I got a chance to see the report.

You could be onto something.
I can’t tell. The ROVs have different cameras on them, some have pretty funky color palates, others are almost black and white. The small pipe on the right should be pumping dispersent into the plume, something they’ve been doing for weeks. I can’t claim to have ever seen the plume a violent orange before.
Probably killed himself as he realizes his career and business is FINISHED as the Gulf is destroyed.
No, 2.5m gallons a day are leaking. Contained 700,000, burned 438,000, the rest is floating in the gulf.
What is the Gulf of Mexico? Is it a large volcano?
2.5 Million ? I know that is possible, but I had thought that was the upper, and “uncertain”, limit according to Steven Chu ? At this point I don’t trust leak estimates from anybody unless they show their calculations and assumptions they made about the fluid dynamics and pressures. I personally look at it now like an upper level college class in engineering/physics-show all work and explanations or your answer gets zero credit.
Maybe he refused to walk the plank?
Don’t mistake barrels for gallons. 2.5m gallons is a way larger number than barrels, so if you heard a lower amount, be sure to pay attention if they referred to it as barrels or gallons.
“due to gas rising in one of the vents.”
This was a concern in placing the cap in the first place....Bo wanted it capped so there she is.
Check out the difference in pipes, the casing looks like it’s falling apart!

Fumbles?
Suicide, self inflicted shot to the head. The other was a swimming accident.
>Wonder what happened in the second death? Cant find any reports on that yet. Just the report of the gunshot victim.<
More lead poisoning ... 158 grains worth
>According to FoxNews story 1 million gallons a day are leaking?
Before the problem with the containment cap, it had collected about 700,000 gallons of oil in the previous 24 hours. Another 438,000 gallons was burned.
Reading this it says
“Under the current worst-case scenario, as much as 104,000 gallons an hour — 2.5 million gallons a day — is flowing when there are no devices stopping some of it.”
We had a nice thread where this was all discussed, based on an article that did give details, YESTERDAY. It was in the LA TIMES and reported on DRUDGE.

It was on DRUDGE yesterday.
Here is the thread that was on FR yesterday that had the link to DRUDGE (LATIMES article) and it does mention the gun shot wound (so called suicide).
