Interior Secretary Ken Salazar says he will issue a new order imposing a moratorium on deepwater drilling after a federal judge struck down the existing one.

Salazar said in a statement Tuesday evening that the new order will contain additional information making clear why the six-month drilling pause was necessary in the wake of the Gulf oil spill.

Good luck Ken. By the way, feel free to point to the spot in the Constitution that lets you get away with that.

If you can, I’ll give you a tasty cookie.

Considering the Democrats that are against the drilling moratorium, along with the cost to the Gulf States, me thinks Obama should walk away from this one. Particularly in an election year.

That’s what I was wondering. Of course, what constitutional right did they have to issue the order in the first place?

But can they overturn a federal judge’s ruling, just like that, without due process through the appeals court, now that there is a ruling.

One other thing—doesn’t this ‘revised’ order ADMIT by execution that the first order was ‘arbitrary and capricious’ since he’s submitting a new order with additional information? I don’t think this is too smart, as it would jeopardize the WH position for appeal that the first order was not ‘arbitrary and capricious.’

Is there any end to the childishness on display in this White House?

Salazar is going to make up even more stuff.

Did you realize this guy's name is an early Reconquista noble title ~ in gaelic ~ so he's either descended from Cornish knights, or Bretons ~ a "sa" is the fellow who held the flag on one end or the other of a line of mounted knights so they could make an orderly advance into the enemy's lies. "la" is pretty much an article as in "of the", and "Zar" would have to do with "castle" or "strong point" ~ and although "zar" is originally an Arabic term, it's fully infiltrated into Spanish.

The process of destroying the domestic energy industry must not be slowed! Who is a mere judge to stop the plans of the mighty Obama? How dare he! We have to absolutely wreck as much that was once great about America as is possible before the November elections and/or before the new Congress is sworn in! Faster, faster!

Seems to me that they’re doing a real fine job of proving that it isn’t about safety.

My guess its about propping up George Soros and Petrobras.

Salazar - the Secretary of No Energy. (Can’t we send him to Mexico? Sounds like he’s one of them.)

Would someone with some legal knowledge on this please explain? A judge rules against the government and Salazar says in effect, no problem, I'll just issue another decree. What is happening here?
