White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel on Sunday ratcheted up the Democrats' effort to turn a House Republican's apology to BP into a political pivot point, saying last week's comments by Rep. Joe L. Barton (Tex.) were a reminder of the "governing philosophy" that Republicans would bring into power if they win big in November

Never apologize for speaking the truth.....
And the GOP should zero in on the Democrat’s apologies to Iran, Syria, North korea, Fidel Castro, terrorist leaders....
Bring it on, Rahm, there’s lots of photos of BO golfing while Jindal’s sweating in the marshes. Philospophy of government? How ‘bout Gibbs “You’re asking too many questions about BP” whine to the press?
This will quickly fizzle out since the voting public has no idea who Barton is, nor does it really care to know.
You are right. Barton committed a colossal blunder and gave BHO what he wanted.
Right now Obama's left-wing is shattered which is why they're trying to find an enemy target.
The GOP shouldn't give them one.
And there is harry reid calling obama the light skinned american who does not speak negro.. his apology was accepted from all the blacks..up to an dincluding michelle..seems any time the dems screw up and apologize it makes things okay.. This would of blew over if Barton would not of apologized, just like the guy who shouted Liar during the state of the union speech..
never mind the fact as long as they continue to bring up the comments of one congressman from Texas about the Gulf the GOP can continue to remind everyone of the abysmal failure of this administration to handled the crisis....
funny thing- a diehard lib told me this morning in the gym he voted for obama but is disappointed that zero cannot make a decision....i simply replied, “he can’t make a decision or does not know how to make a decision?”....the diehard lib said- “well he’s never really had to make tough decisions in the past”...I looked at him and said, “exactly”...
The anger is at the groveling apology, not the legal point.
Barton’s arse kissing of Hayward was abysmal, the worst kind of prostration.
And how does Tony pay America back, he goes yachting.
That is a BIG FU to America from Tony.
Emotionally, the apology stuck most Americans as deeply wrong.
My problem is with PC-correct Republicans calling for Joe Barton’s ouster for speaking the TRUTH about the BP shakedown.
Someone once said the Republicans are the party of stupid, the Democrats are the party of evil. There must be some truth to that.
Yea, and using Mr. "Never let a crisis go to waste!" as their spokesman is sheer political genius. I never woulda thoughta that.
Regards,
TS
The Demon-rats will fail again. Joe Barton’s words notwithstanding. BTW, JB never excused BP for the spill. His words were about Hussein’s fascism. And he was right about that—perhaps, just perhaps, he could’ve said it in a different way so as to NOT get his leadership’s panties in a wad.
Of course, he also said EXPLICITLY: “I am speaking ONLY for myself, I am NOT speaking for the Republican party.” The deadbeat, Obama-fellating MEDIA never reports that fact.
I don’t expect they’ll be able to make too much of it anyway. They’re shooting blanks.
Straw, meet man.
Man, meet straw.
Straw man.
Is that all they have? They will not be able to ride that one very far.
