Say No To Amnesty

"Comprehensive immigration reform" is a euphemism for amnesty. As such, reform will impose significant costs on the country. The primary effect of immigration amnesties in both the U.S. and Europe has been to attract more illegal immigration. An amnesty signals to potential border-crossers that if they can just get into the country illegally, they will eventually be given legal status. Illegal entries in the U.S. rose after the Immigration Reform & Control Act of 1986 went into effect and have increased fivefold from the 1980s to today.

The vast majority of illegal aliens who have entered the U.S. since 1986 have been low-skilled, low-educated Mexicans and Central Americans; those groups will also make up the bulk of illegal immigrants most attracted by the current proposed amnesty. Mexicans, Salvadorans, Guatemalans and Hondurans made up 74% of the illegal population last year, says the Department of Homeland Security.

Therein lies the problem. To be sure, many children and grandchildren of Hispanic illegal aliens follow the timeworn immigrant trajectory of upward mobility; they are great assets to their communities. But a significant portion of second- and third-generation Latinos are assimilating downward into underclass culture. Hispanics have the highest rate of teen pregnancy in the U.S. and the fastest-growing rate of illegitimacy (now 53%) compared with blacks and whites. The incarceration rate of Mexican immigrants jumps more than eightfold between the first and second generations, resulting in a prison rate 3.5 times that of whites.

While second-generation Hispanics do better than their parents in school, that progress stalls at high school completion. Hispanics' high school dropout rate--around 50%--has not budged for generations, and their low college-completion rate has not changed for two decades, according to Patricia Gandara and Frances Contreras in The Latino Education Crisis (Harvard University Press, 2008).

They use falsified and forged documents, and multiple identities, as well. A common practice for illegals is to steal SS nos, and get SS nos for the kids to establish several identies to cash in on US govt freebies.

They collect SSI for their kids' ADD (a common practice among illegals). They apply for Social Security benefits, SSI for wife, kids and senior relatives, welfare, food stamps, EITC refunds, free healthcare, sub-prime mortgages, and multiple bank accounts for each identity.

They wire large amounts of money to Mexico...out of the US economy.

Over and above the millions who violate our borders, 1.5 million legal foreign workers come to the US each year, as a matter of course.

But this number isn’t high enough for Dem Cong Gutierrez and his 92 co-sponsors. Their Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill includes a provision called “recapture” that will add up all the supposedly “unused” work visas since 1992 and issue them immediately.

This is a complete fraud, as all unused work visas are rolled over to the family reunification category the next year as it is.

Gutierrez' Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill will create 100,000 visas from countries that send the most illegal immigrants every year. According to the State Department, this will mean 550,000 new foreign workers.

AND GET THIS Mexico is the staging area for Third World and other illegals preparing to violate our borders. The Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill rewards Mexico b/c they calculatedly promote illegal immigration.

Gutierrez' bill will make it much easier for more illegal aliens to break in. Under the Bill, to prove they have jobs and were in the country BEFORE Congress passed amnesty, illegals are allowed to use stolen ID's, fake green cards, and fraudulent SS numbers....... without fear of prosecution.

Mexico facilitates the profitable staging area for global illegals to cross the border. Contrary to Obama’s claim that CIR bill will increase border security, it does just the opposite.........

<> it guts successful enforcement measures,

<> limits raids on illegal immigrants,

<> prohibits use of troops on the border,

<> replaces E-Verify used to ensure employers hire legal American workers,

<> overturns all state and local US laws that crackdown on illegal immigration,

<> abolishes 287(g) that allows local L/E and federal authorities to apprehend criminal illegals.

Gutierrez makes Van Jones look like a patriot.

All true but the American people are waking up. It will become extremely dangerous for illegals very soon.

Having violated U.S. and state laws entering the counntry illegally, and with apparent impunity, how many other laws may the illegals violate? Jaywalking? Running red lights? Speeding in school zones? Where does it stop?

If the Republicans as a party came up with a platform stating that there will be no amnesty and no consideration of amnesty - ever - and that it would secure the borders totally in the next two years, it would win in a landslide.

But it doesn’t, and it won’t.

The truth is, the Republican leadership and their allies like the Chamber of Commerce want all that cheap labor that takes low wages, no benefits, and no worker appeal process to keep their profits high. America and its laws be damned, they only care about their personal greed.

It is sad that a party lined up to inherit the good will and votes of 70% of the American people by stopping amnesty, spending, and special interests, blindly refuses to do the obvious. It was not democrats that were pushing amnesty down our throats in 2006-2008 - it was George Bush, Karl Rove, John McCain, Lindsey Graham and other fools.

Stop thinking that the Republicans will be taking over the House and Senate in November. Until they take clear stands in line with the wishes of the people, they are destined to lose. For every DeMint, there are five Grahams.

The anger against amnesty will not turn into Republican votes as long as its leadership and chief spokesmen are either for or wishy-washy on amnesty and open borders.

But W said that family values don't stop at the southern border. Can't we just take his word for it?

W's legacy: Obama and a third-world population to elect more Obamas.

Bush Junior also presided over the largest-ever 8-year influx of Muslims into our homeland.

amen.

any pubbie that is not for closing the borders and kicking out the illegals is not a pubbie but a rino.

the fate of california is what is staring the rest of the country in the face. that state is simply being looted by illegals who work off the books, send their money to mexico, don’t pay taxes but use government services and force tax paying californians out of the state. they are abetted by calmex officials who believe its their sacred duty to suck as much money from the state as possible and they are abetted by hopeless liberals and unions in california who have no clue.
