Groceries are getting so high that I told my stepson that we will have to start trapping Opossums and we need to get some goats to graze so we can eat goatmeat. He replied by asking why we don’t just move to a third world country and I told him that prospect is looking more attractive all the time. Next time I see him I will tell him that after thinking it over I decided to sit tight, the third world is coming to me very soon.

No president has been this unpopular this quickly into his first term.

Not even Carter? Or Ford?

“today marks 4 straight days into the abyss.”

YES. Gettin’ lonely yet bammy? Where’s the hope schmo? We here all knew what a tragedy had unfolded in 11/2008.

Now onto the re-education of 53% of American voters and vast numbers that don’t vote.

"He can't just go and do that without sparking a major armed rebellion in this country, and he knows it. "

I would have said the same about the nationalization of GM before he did it.

I heard that Hillary might be moved into Biden’s place as VP.

Tell him to go buy bulk. I have a Sam’s Club Card (at last!) and when I live on my own, I plan on doing all my shopping (except for milk and other small perishables) and dining like a Roman for little. You’d be amazed at the perfect pricing and there’s SO MUCH of it there.

This is different. The economy is so bad that the Messiah is actually a target for even his past supporters. He’s losing everyone but his hard core supporters, but if someone offered a better deal to them, then they would walk too.

I am glad the Republicans lost. IMagine the media crucifixion if McCain and Palin had been in office. They could have solved the problem in a month or two and had things going, but the press and entertainers would have been bashing and bashing and bashing.

I would have said the same about the nationalization of GM before he did it.

But it's not the same. Not everyone holds stock in GM, nor did every American even grasp the full ramifications of what the government did with that company.

Suspension of a national election, on the other hand, is something that even the dimmest bulbs in the country will totally understand.

Suspending the November elections would be tantamount to a suspension of the Constitution and every basic tenet of agreement that holds this nation together (no matter how tattered the fabric). Remember that the elections would be suspended for everyone, not just Republicans.

Do you really think that that would go down well with that segment of the public who still supports him? Or, do you think they'd be outraged enough by this to begin calling for his impeachment?

Trust me, suspending the November elections would create an upheaval in this country like you've never seen.

What did I do to offend you so that you want to get me killed? I know I have offended a few others but I thought I was still on your good side.

Reagan was at 44 at exactly this time into his presidency.

mc - President Bush may have finished at 35 after 5 years of relentless attacks and smears from both sides of the isle, but look at his popularity the first 3 years of his presidency. The usurper has never come close to President Bush’s popularity.

This is from Gallup, but it gives some historical perspective. There have now been about twice as many ratings done for the usurper in his 17 months of soiling the People’s House as were done for President Bush in 48 months.

Obama fell to historic lows by December 2009 - immediately - not even one year into his presidency. In December 2009, people thought a -21 index figure was an outlier - but it was simply an early appearance of what has been a clear trend.

And Bush? He enjoyed enormous popularity. But after 7 years of war, he was unpopular. But he did not fall to such lows until the second half of his second term.
