EXCERPT

"I think the president is doing the best anybody can," said Winfrey, who campaigned for Obama when he ran for president. "I really don't understand what people want him to do? I think he's the president of the United States.

"You're not supposed to be emotional, you're supposed to take action and get things done and make sure those things happen so I'm not sure what people want him to do," she said.

I’m sure she offered the same defense of President Bush when the likes of Kanye Worst were criticizing him for not parting the waters after Katrina.

I totally agree. She should have had about fifteen minutes of questionable air time....and we should be seeing her on “Whatever happened to ???” She is symbol and reason for so much of what is wrong with our country. She made ‘victimhood’ a rallying cry for two generations. Enough. Enough. Enough. And more than enough. The door can't slam fast enough on her ample behind.

Oprah on Katrina:

September 07, 2005

Oprah Winfrey on Tuesday devoted the first of two shows to the wake of Hurricane Katrina, saying: “I think ... this country owes these people an apology” – referring to the survivors for their treatment after the disaster struck and to those who were left to die as help failed to arrive.

“This makes me so mad. This should not have happened,” said a tearful Winfrey, who wore a gas mask inside New Orleans’ now-vacated Superdome, where she was overcome by the stench.

“Nothing I saw on television prepared me for what I experienced on the ground,”

Katrina victims in Oprah homes indicted
They are accused of taking FEMA money after moving

Aug. 20, 2009

Three Hurricane Katrina evacuees who found homes in Houston thanks to Oprah Winfrey’s charitable foundation are accused of bilking the government of tens of thousands of dollars in housing assistance.

Federal agents arrested the women Wednesday morning at their homes on Angel Lane, to the surprise of neighbors who have struggled to build a thriving community in their southwest Houston subdivision. They plan to arrest the sister of one of the women today on similar charges.

“It was a shock to everyone on the block,” said 18-year-old Julie Paxton, who said one of the women was a nurse and another was a probation officer. “We didn’t know people like that would do something like this.”

Oprah on Katrina:

Oprah visited yesterday the Huston’s Astrodome, from where she broadcast her show. Winfrey declared during the show that she was shocked by the tragic situation she found in New Orleans and apologized in the name of American people to those who died on the streets and to the survivors that were so mistreated by the Government officials.

“Nothing I saw on television prepared me for what I experienced on the ground,” she said “This makes me so mad. This should not have happened.”

“I think we all - this country owes these people an apology,” added Oprah after she heard the terrible stories of people dying unattended in the streets.

“I think the president is doing the best anybody can,”

Unfortunately for us, “O” IS anybody!!

Hey Oprah, THAT’S the trouble with having just ‘anybody’ for President instead of someone FIT for the office!

I actually agree with Oprah. I think Obama is doing the best he can. The problem is that his “best” is far below the standards we should expect of an American President.

I thought Obama was on vacation again.

If Oprah thinks Obama's in trouble now, wait until the hurricanes start spreading that oil all over the gulf.

"I really don't understand what people want him to do? I think he's the president of the United States."

We know you don't understand Oprah...so sit down and STFU. And BTW, I can confirm for you that he is the president of the US...since you don't seem to be sure.

Whether that's true or not, I'm not cutting The Won any slack on this, not after what the 'Rats did to Bush with Katrina. This is all on Obama now, because it happened on his watch. Hey, I say turnabout is fair play. The 'Rats set the paradigm, demonizing Bush over a natural disaster. Now they're going to have to swallow some of their own medicine.

Oprah would give BO a BJ on television if she thought it would help improve BO’s public opinion.

You got that right. It was 1997 that I realized how racist she is and have never watched her since.
