Obama, Biden declare 'Recovery Summer'

Vice President Joe Biden today will kick off the Obama administration’s “Recovery Summer,” a six-week-long push designed to highlight the jobs accompanying a surge in stimulus-funded projects to improve highways, parks, drinking water and other public works.

David Axelrod, a senior adviser to the president, said: “This summer will be the most active Recovery Act season yet, with thousands of highly-visible road, bridge, water and other infrastructure projects breaking ground across the country, giving the American people a first-hand look at the Recovery Act in their own backyards and making it crystal clear what the cost would have been of doing nothing.”

Biden, President Barack Obama and other administration officials will travel to more than two dozen Recovery Act project sites in coming weeks. On Friday, the president will travel to Columbus, Ohio, to mark the groundbreaking of the 10,000th Recovery Act road project to get under way.

I remember those WIN pins, they used to give them away at grocery stores.

Where are the F**KING HI-TECH JOBS which offshoring was supposed to provide, by freeing up money for the big corporations to innovate?

Congressman Courtney... will now be sending me e-mails every week telling me how HE brought money to my district.

Send emails back reminding him that he's bringing back less money than the Gov't (with HIS vote) took away to begin with through over-taxation and overspending.

I just hope he doesn't promise to keep unemployment below 10%.

If he did, it would surely rise to 12%.

I guess it’s not going to be the Summer of George this year.

Woohooo!! Everybody in Jersey loves highway projects when they're trying to get to the shore!

At least Bob Toricelli will get fatter. He still gets paid, like Tony Soprano, for every construction job in the state.

What’s the tipping point, folks? The treasonous behavior coming from DC is so obvious you could reach out and touch it. They’re not even trying to hide it anymore! If any of us are under the illusion that someone else is going to start the brushfire of Liberty, I think we’re all deluding ourselves. If November gets here and the elections aren’t replete with corruption and ballot stuffing, I have absolutely ZERO faith that the Republicans will do anything about Obama. He’s single-handedly burning down the United States of America, and every little Nero in this country is fiddling while he does it.

I often wonder what happened while Rome was collapsing. Did the farmers in the countryside or the housewives in the cities see any change in their day to day? What will make every American wake up and take back this country? With the Internet, cable TV, HD Plasma LCD DLP TVs, iPods, iPads, iPhones, cushy couches, and quiet suburban lifestyles, why would anybody want to revolt against a corrupt government? Sadly, with this bunch in charge, I fear we’re already too late to any party that might effect change. I guess I’ll go back to American Idol reruns.

E-mails to him are waste of time. He doesn't read them (Our local Tea Party found that out) but you get a canned response in reply.

We have mini tea parties outside his office but I don't think he cares at all. He's got the unions of Electric Boat and the entire New London area in his pocket.

OOOO! Are they going to put lights on those recovery dollars at work signs?
We had one around our way and it took several weeks longer than it possibly should have because after this one, the contractor had no other work.

And therein lies the problem: the same one FDR met: you can spend the billions with busy work but if there is no private sector demand to continue spending [and there is not...] it is just money tossed down a hole.

And at the end of Recovery Summer, let's all meet and have ...Recoverystock!

Because we will likely all be out of work and have nothing better to do.

Yes, they definitely can see November from their houses, too.

They're counting on Americans to continue displaying the colossal stupidity that put them in the driver's seat.

I admit: I didn’t know that. That doesn’t give me comfort considering the damage that was done in the interim. Rome never truly recovered. If you have any information on the lives of common Romans at the time, I’d love to hear it. I’m afraid we’re all going to be praying for a reprieve if we ever make it to 2012.

Anyone who would have thought differently has been asleep the last 18 months. There’s the transparent part; anyone with an ounce of sense could see right through it. But the Oboomba minions, not so much.
