I think you’ve hit the nail square on the head.
He’s too good for us. So,...since we are so undeserving of such great leadership...he should step down, and leave us with the leaders this great country deserves.
Now...who would that be? Hopefully, another Reagan...another Thatcher. The letter “P” comes to mind.
Unfortunately, if he steps down we get left with someone who’s name beings with a ‘B’.
Leadership means the ability to inspire confidence and action.
In Biblical times, unlikely leaders were chosen by God.
One I recall was slow of tongue ( a stutterer?).
Another was a mere shepherd boy.
