Sen Clyburn On Greene Win: "Great Possibility" Someone Tampered With Machines
RealClearPolitics ^ | June 15, 2010 | RealClearPolitics

Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) says US Senate candidate Alvin Greene's (D-SC) win in last week's primary race is highly suspicious.

Clyburn says South Carolina used voting machines that all other states rejected. In fact, they were bought from Louisiana, he said.

"Something went wrong with these machines," Clyburn said. "They were very unreliable," he added.

"All you need is a magnet" to compromise the machines, Rep. Clyburn said.

Who would have a motive? "The motive could very well be to embarass the Democratic party. This could be embarassing if we do not get it worked out. Or this could be someone who wanted to ensure a victory [for incumbent Sen. Jim DeMint]," Clyburn said.

Clyburn concluded there is a "great possibility" that someone paid for him to run and tampered with the machines.

Seems like the Dems had trouble vetting a candidate again.

Interesting analysis.

I always assume any opponent has access to the same level of assets as I do. Election overhaul is undoubtedly the most important issue facing America soon.

We need a tamper proof reliable system that will allow no cheating.

I think it is impossible to embarass a shameless collection of treacherous snakes like the modern ‘rat party. That goes double for a stupid, race baiting idiot like Clyburn.

THEY win...the machines are great; the DON'T win, and the machines are "unreliable".

Typical democrat/liberal B.S.; hanging magnetic chads, right?

Why would S. Carolina buy voting machines they knew were problems? Why would ANYONE buy voting machines they knew were defective?

Unless they planned to use them to win elections......

So, was this a democrat trial run that ended up biting them in the butt?

He’s not a lot worse than the stump turtle in the White House.

True. He's at least as equally experienced. He's arguably more accomplished as a campaigner--which is what Obozo's followers claimed qualified their messiah for high office. He got much more "bang for the buck" from his modest campaign expenditures than Obozo got from his.

And why is no one screaming racism? What they're saying is that a poor black man couldn't possibly get more votes than an annointed Democrat.

Regarding the possibility of vote fraud: This election covered more than one precinct. I would love to know how they pulled it off.

Is Clyburn a member of the Senate or the House?

What if it is a Democratic fund raising ploy? The Republicans are going to steal the elections.

A Democrat operative puts up the money for Greene’s campaign on a race they know they can’t win.

As usual, it is not the veracity of the evidence, it is the seriousness of the charge made that counts.

Agreed!

I’ve worked the polls here in Harris County, TX (Houston area) for the past few primaries / generals.

The voting / tallying system we employ (and the machines themselves) are foolproof and secure, but as with most things, cheating is possible if all parties working the poll are complicit. Fortunately, the damage would be limited to one poll at a time, and systemic cheating is pretty much impossible.

"The motive could very well be to embarass (sic) the Democratic party.

IOW, if a unknown, poor, homeless, black, veteran wins over a rich white establishment party guy, there's an embarrassment?.......boy is this guy gonna get his comeuppance.........

I bet this is a ploy for Obama to get all of voting America RFID with identity chips.

There was a sci-fi movie years ago with a system that used such a setup.

The more complicated and technical a system gets the more its easier to hide tampering.

So the saviour of society, the Muslim messiah, the Black Ghost of no past, the narcissist of doom will now explain to America he has a better voting solution.

Right....(Sarc)
