A friend of mine is flying for a group of media photogs in the Gulf of Mexico. He took these pics yesterday and emailed them to me. First few are his, taken with his iPhone, last few were taken by one of the press photog's using a digital camera.

I’ve already advised everyone I know on the Gulf Coast to stay out of the rain if the storms come from the South.

This is quite possibly the worst time for this to happen. Many down here are relying on gardens for food supplements during high unemployment in the southeast and it worries me to eat the vegetables. But not much difference in produce grown in Florida.
This could be something that doesn’t show itself for a while.

That figures. I just found it. LOL Nevertheless, thank you.
I don’t know this guy, but if he was a chaplain in the oilfields in Alaska, I imagine he has some credibility.
The thing is, his information comports exactly with a lot of what is floating around out there, just under the top layer.
The chemicals in the air are frightening to me. My sister is a Hodgkin’s patient in remission. Exposure would be deadly to her.
While no fan of MSNBC, while channel surfing last night, Keiff had a woman on in one of his segments who described in detail some disturbing things. How the wildlife “kills” are being hidden, how they aren’t allowing workers to wear masks, etc.
There is something rotten in Denmark.

A small tactical nuclear warhead, minimum critical mass, 2 or 3 kilotons only, would seal the well head. Why is no one considering this? The problem is what if it doesn't work? What if it makes it worse? The Russians only had a 4 out of 5 success rate. They were using it on land only, not a mile deep in the ocean. But I am no expert. This option should be condidered by experts.

On my local radio station....
A guy called in and said his father was retired and lives high up in a high rise on one of the Gulf beaches. Pensacola I think. His father has always liked to look out the window at the ocean
In the last two weeks his father has seen signs of Gulf life disappearing from the ocean. Such as dolphins jumping. Remember, from his high rise he can see far out.

This could be something that doesnt show itself for a while.People working out in the Gulf are already getting sick. What this could mean for this year's crops could be catastrophic. The layers of this calamity are numerous.
Almost as bad is that oil getting into the warm eddies in the Southern Gulf where super storms "blow up" (see Katrina/Rita). Under this scenario the oil holds far more heat from the Sun than would the water (especially at night). Along comes a storm and we may have a Katrina (or worse) part deux.

Dragging that tiny boom in that monster oil spill is utterly rediculous. Thanks for the pictures, this is dreadful ... I'm suprised your friend got the photo's, from what I gather, it's clamped down tighter than area 51.

How in the heck did your friend get those? My understanding is that BP has made this a no-fly zone and the govt. goes along with it. Reporters have been arrested in LA, video cams confiscated....how did he/she manage this? Wow! (Once you see the pics, you know why they want to keep fly overs forbidden, though Ive read of other reasons, too.)You'd think this was the Soviet Union during Chernobyl.
