BP Rig Missed 16 Inspections Before Explosion

Newly released government inspection reports show BP's Deepwater Horizon oil rig was only inspected six times in 2008 even though government regulations say drilling rigs should be inspected every month. In total, the rig missed 16 inspections since January 2005, according to the documents.
An Interior Department official told CBS News a rig might miss an inspection because it's moving from one place to the next or there might be a delay from weather.
Inspectors found five incidents of non-compliance at the rig dating back to 2001.

I heard from some conspiracy oriented website (don’t blame me, I got it in an email!) that the real drilled depth was much closer to 30,000 ft.

I think they could have inspected it 30 more times and it wouldn’t have made a difference in this instance.
Yeah, this sure is oddly worded. You don’t “miss an inspection”. The inspections are not performed. They make it sound like it was the rig’s fault.
Now, let's be realistic....No explosion occurred in those years....

Commander Zer0's administration isn't going to do or act on anything that doesn't involve coddling a no-good Democrat voter, period. They don't have any idea where oil comes from. All they know is that they can ride the bus/train or hoopty and put a dollar two ninety-eight in it when they have to go buy a 40 and a lottery ticket.....oil? who needs that?
Anyway, a group of Transocean and BP employees were being interviewed.
They all said that BP overrode the standard procedures, and used salt water where “mud” or concrete should have been used, in the drilling procedure.
They all thought that BP was either negligent or criminally libel.
I am slow to sign off on the idea of turning accidents into crimes -— and I am usually on the side of business -—
But BP was a left wing piggy bank, funding the “Global Warming” hoax in the hopes of putting rival coal companies out of business.
BP execs also gave more money to Obama than to any other candidate.

The rig isn’t BP’s. It was owned by Transocean and leasted to BP. The rig doesn’t miss inspections per se. It may fail an inspection or the gov’t may fail to make the inspection.
An AP story reported that the rig was written up 6 or 7 times under Bush and got a Safety award from Obama’s thugs.
More propaganda from the left...they are trying to give the allusion that this was all under President Bush’s fault. They simply researched back to 2001 probably. In any event, it has been Obama’s baby for over a year now...
