Geez, what a surprise. We’re headed down the European model. Welfare state at the expense of a cutting edge and strong military.

>>The Sustainable Defense Task Force, a commission of scholars...<<

No point in reading further. The LAST person to go to for advice on any real world situation is a “scholar,” much less one appointed to the commission by that commie franks.

Limitless spending on everything, except defense. Liberalism is a suicide pact.

Geez, thanks Barney, its always good to know the only thing the Fed does well should be cut to enable more spending on things the Fed does poorly. Like spreading the wealth around using mortgages. Sound familiar?

Our military is over-reliant on airplanes, ships, and bullets. /sarcasm

The primary duty of the Federal government is to protect the homeland, and they’re looking to gut it. Someone explain to me how this isn’t treason?

>> a commission of scholars from a broad ideological spectrum appointed by Frank

Hyeah, right. I’m sure he picked from the entire spectrum — everything from center-left all the way to revolutionary Marxist. Provided they were queer.

What a joke. This is Clinton and Carter on steroids and so very radically liberal. Hey Barney, you could have saved the money on the panel -— you and your boss are totally predictable. No matter what you destroy, your Marxist plans are unsustainable.

A panel commissioned by Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) is recommending nearly $1 trillion in cuts to the Pentagon’s budget over the next 10 years.

It's not a budget cut, it's a redistribution of tax money from one branch of government to another.

Who will safeguard European socialist states from invaders if we don't pick up the tab?

Next election we need to pool our money and get rid of this Cork Sucker. I don’t even care if it is a moderate Democrat. He needs to go.

While I’m certain that these recommendations are crap, the defense budget is an over-bloated turd. Mostly because we overpay for just about everything.
